Steve looks at the pokeball, then places it in his pack. Though it sounded very nice, it still seemed a little odd, but at least it wasn't a defunct piece of junk.
"Okay. So, there's no way I can really get there, and back in less than an hour, I take it. Well, I suppose I had best be off anyway. Thanks for the assistance."
Steve heads off to the Pokemon Center.

Derek
The Mayors office for the most part is your basic public office building. However, you do notice a lot of ... extras inside. Paintings, statues (two of them .. an Archanine and a Skitty), etc. Of course since it is a government building there are quite a few security people, and a metal detector.
After passing through all of that, you finally get up to the secretaries desk. "May I help you?"

You arrive back at the Pokecenter just in time to see Nurse Joy hand back a pokeball to Jeremy.

Jeremy spared only a glance for the news reporters; under less dire circumstances he might have watched them work—it was never too late to pick up pointers—but his new friend was hurt. He went up to the counter with an expression on his face so somber the nurse must have thought someone had died.
“Nurse, my Pokemon is hurt—” he explained briefly about the very large scary hairy man, causing the nurse to look quite concerned for a moment.
But then she just smiled and took Cubone and his other Pokemon (Aduro having vanished into her ball after catching sight of the news crews), and came back with them after a few moments.
“Here you are; good as new,” she assured him.
He thanked the nurse and turned to see Steve.
“Oh hi!” Jeremy greeted. “I got your message.” He looked curiously in the direction of the news crew. “What do you think all these people are here for?”

They reached the house, so it was now a known location.
"Well, i'l be back later on!" Yari said before getting Mintz out of the Pokeball and ontu her head and then she ran out into the forest hoping to encounter something.

Without saying anything, Thor picked up the red ball, shaked it for awhile and took it towards his mouth and shouted "HELLO!", like if he had forgotten what it was. Thor shrugged, putted it in his backpack before turning towards Munchlax, and was somewhat shocked to see it there. "What are you doing out here little guy? Anyway here, take some food and let's go." Thor said and handed the munchlax an huge apple, to which it happily replied with a big "MUUUUNCHLAX!" to

“Who’s Derek?” Jeremy asked curiously.
(He’s the trainer with the Baltoy,) Cubone said via Pokedex. (Remember? On top of the tower?)
“Oh.” Jeremy paused. Then he looked down at the Ground type with confusion in his eyes. “How do you know?”
(He was on the boat with us,) Cubone said matter-of-factly.
“Oh. Well do you know where he is?” Jeremy asked.
(No.)
“I guess we don’t know,” Jeremy told Steve unnecessarily. Cubone sighed.
“Are we waiting for him? I’ll go ask the news people what’s going on while we wait,” Jeremy said. He wandered over to the news crew, figuring that as a fellow reporter he should be able to talk to them, and tugged on one individual’s sleeve.
“Excuse me, what’s going on?”

You have to ask several people, but finally somebody recognizes the girl. "Jessie. A couple years ago she was a intern here, dissapeared without a trace. If I remember correctly the mayor was quiet upset at her dissapearence, and would go out trying to find her himself."
Yari
Well just as Yari finds Thor, Yari also finds a strange looking pokemon. It looks like a small bear with red and blue stripes. Steam is rising up from it. The pokedex gives you ZIP on it. (it comes up with "Unknown Species", but that is about it).
Jeremy/Steve
"Seems there is a strange island that just appeared out in the ocean. New pokemon are pouring from it, never before seen pokemon. Some sort of meteorite hit into the sea, and as far as we can tell opened up some sort of habitat that had been buried under water for who knows how long!" everybody seems very excited about the find.

“Oh, okay.” Jeremy wandered back to Steve to report his findings (such as they were) and wait for Derek.
He got bored rather quickly however, and finally piped up to Steve, “How come you wanted to meet us here anyway?”

Thor gave the red little bear one look before shouting "A DEVIL! A cute little teddy bear has been possesed by an demon!" He quickly took fourth the bible, a silver cross and garlic and changed quickly to an spanish inquisition uniform before shouting "BE GONE EVIL MONSTROISITY! THE POWER OF THE HOLY MUNCHLAX COMPELS YOU!" while throwing the pokéball with Munchlax inside.
Munchlax came out of the ball, dressed in same kind of uniform as Thor had, with the same necklace of garlic and silver necklace of silver with the cross on. And the bible in it's mouth, which it quickly ate. "THERE WE GO!" Thor shouted and pointed at the Munchlax "Now that she has eaten the bible, that Munchlax is now a holy Munchlax that can easily as that*snaps fingers* exorcise demons like you! "Holy Tackle of St.Peter"!

Thor in his insane inform looked at Yari yabbing: "What ya doing brat, with that pen and notebook?!", she replied: "Shut up crazy geezer!" Then pointed Mintz forward to that thing and shouted: "Mintz, attack it with a solid Water Gun!"

Steve thinks it's very odd that the Cubone is actually 'talking' with Jeremy, at first. Then he recalls the dex making some noise about some translation something or another. This must be what it was getting at. He sighed at the fact that this was yet another thing the device made him look like such a novice with. He soon put it out of his mind, and took a seat in a nearby chair(or whatever else, if not a chair).
"Well, I suppose one of us can get the information to him, whenever one of us meets up with him. Anyway, that woman you may had seen talking to Derek and I, yesterday. She seems to have had some items stolen from her recently, along with a couple pokemon. She says she knows who done it. Some scientist by the name of Melvin Max. The police can not do anything without any proof, which she doesn't have. She can't do anything herself because she doesn't want too many people to know who she actually is. I will give you the name elsewhere, but she said she could handle any trouble we get into, should we get into it, and I am sure she is quite able to."
Steve takes a break, and looks around. He then returns his view to Jeremy.
"And that is what I wanted to meet about. I wanted you two to think it over for the day. She'd like an answer by tomorrow. For now though, I have something else I should get to."
Steve stands, and walks out. He heads for Wild Joe's.

Wild Joes
Take a sporting goods place, a safari zone, and a petting zoo like place ... haphazardly throw them together..add a crazy looking guy in a safari outfit...and you have Wild Joes.
The place is PACKED with anything and everything you could ever need for any kind of sport, camping, or wilderness survival. The Petting Zoo has all kinds of different friendly pokemon that children (and adults) can interact with.

Jeremy bobbed his head, seeming unusually quiet. “Sounds good,” he agreed, absently patting Harriet’s case.
After Steve had left, Jeremy turned to Cubone. “Do you think that Marvin guy—“
(Melvin.) she corrected.
“—do you think that Melvin guy’s the same one who wanted to take Aduro?” Jeremy asked hesitantly.
(I don’t know who else it could be,) Cubone opinioned.
“Oh,” Jeremy deflated, and it was only then the Ground type realized he’d hoped she would contradict the theory.
(So are we going to do something about him or not?)
“I—I don’t know,” Jeremy was handling Harriet’s case nervously. He got up and started walking out of the Center, Cubone trailing behind.
(Why not?)
“He—he might try and take Aduro again. He could have hurt her. But—” he struggled with the concepts currently at war in his head. “But that lady, he stole her friends. And he might hurt them too. So we should stop him…right?”
Cubone looked happy for some reason; she patted him on the knee, which was about as high as she could reach. (I knew I liked you for a reason.)
“Huh?”
(Never mind. We’re going then?)
“I guess so,” Jeremy said doubtfully. Then he brightened as a thought occurred. “Oh! And I bet Harriet can get lots of good evidence for us! And it’ll probably make a good story, too!” he added, cheered by the thought.
(So where are we headed to next?) Cubone prodded.
“Let’s go to that little shop; we might find Derek there.”

Derek
The assistant thinks for a bit. "Not that I know of. It's been a bit ago, a lot of things I really don't remember. I think you probably would get more information from the police, especially Lt. Hibbert. He worked on the case on his own time once it was put in the cold case files. He's retired now, but you can usually find him at Wild Joes outside town. He takes care of the pokemon there, he loves working with pokemon and children." She gives you directions to Wild Joes.
Jeremy
On your way to find Derek, Aduro comes out of its pokeball and starts acting weird. It is flying all over the place, spewing smoke, bumping into things. Suddenly it stops, lets out a Trill and it's body blazes bright for a second. Cubone looks just as confused as you. Aduro turns toward the lighthouse, and lifts up. It starts flying that way.
Cubone chases it (Come back here! Where are you going?! What is WRONG with you?!) Aduro stops, apparently listening to Cubone, lands on your shoulder, but looks visibly upset.
