Wii Fit Board
I just got the wii fir board yesteday along with the game Skate It..
And i must say, the wii fit board is just waayy better than stupid Xbox's and PS's.
And the fitness game itself is actually quite fun too, especially the snowboarding..
How many of you own a Wii and the board?
And what do you think about it!
I already love it, it is insanely fun, but you need some space at your room! Cuz you have to swing alot arround with your arms and legs..

I think our household is the only one in Tokyo that hasn't been conquered by the Wii yet.
Here in Tokyo basically everybody has the wii and that board. Mind you here this is a product for women who stay at home while their husbands do their work and the children are in school. The wii isn't really that much of a child games console as it is in europe. Here you can even use your Nintendo DS to plan your shopping, calculate your household expenses, make statistics of the frequency in which you wear what shirt and what colour it has, etc. etc. It's scary.

I own the Wii board. It's a lot of fun, but I wish there were more games available for it.

yep, that looks very gimmicky. well, it seems there are some good game, but the wii looks like a good excuse to develop gimmick games.
moreover, I played it a couple time, and apart from wii sport, the other games felt very hard to play (tried red steel, resident evil umbrella chronicles and call of duty 3)

After a bit of useage i think that its a working gimmick, but its still a gimmick in the same sense as a dpad and joystick.

Why is it a gimmick - because it's different?

i love the wii. it's soooo much fun. nintendo has always found ways to do video games differently.
anyone remember the roll and rocker?
my cousin had nearly everything that was made for the nitendo. joysticks, guns, gloves, boots, hats...whatever. if some sort of gizmo existed to make games more "interesting", he owned it. when i first saw the wii fit on a commercial i instantly thought of him. :-P

The only gimmicky thing is its innovation. its like saying too many games for a new console have better graphics.

I'm just not a fan of non-traditional controllers. Either you have the keyboard + mouse, or the PS1 Dual Shock-esque thing. I'm not a fan of the Wiimote, or the board, or nunchuk, or any of them.

Some of you sounds like the people hwo said that a cellphone was too genious to be in this world? Cmon, get movin! Wii is the next-gen play console!
I bet that Sony and Microsoft is slamming theire heads towards a concrete wall, ony because of they didn't get the idea before Nintendo..
Azagal# That sounds scarry indeed.. Europe looks like a lot of countries still living in the stone age.. Hmm, too bad for me
Fauch# Uuhh, you should try Resident Evil 4 on the wii! The controls and graphics is some of the best in the wii games.. WOrth trying again after the ps2 version..
Izzy# What is that thing? Never seen it before!
mvassilev# The wii controller and the nunchuck is just genious. And now the board to stay healthy in a fun way..

The only reason the Wii is doing so well is because it's cheap - both to buy and to develop for.

I indeed beat the PS2 version. that will be surprising if I feel more comfortable on Wii since I unlocked everything on PS2, which means I was quite comfortable with the game, I was quite good at killing with the knife

Consoles suck. The reason people complain about the price of getting a new PC is because they have 3 consoles at home
Anyone is about "woah innovation omg lolz" but they fail to realize how the very concept of consoles is the stone age. We are living in a world of digital information, for that, most everyone who deals with digital data needs an open-platform for manipulating it. Incidentally that's a PC. Rarely you will find people who have a console and don't have a PC, unless they are die-hards console lovers or have placed a bet or something.
Console platforms are closed-ended. On PCs, you can think of just about any device you can connect to it to play games if you don't want with the SUPERB innovation of keyboard + ESPECIALLY mouse. You get to even program them, use custom programs, MAKE YOUR OWN if you want, or manipulate data from ANY device that is capable of a UNIVERSAL connection because it's an open-platform, you are not restricted to a stupid configuration that is the stone age concept. In today's MODULAR world, accessibility of digital data is the deciding factor, and why PCs stand out because they can be done CUSTOM for any digital task, as long as people and those sucky game programmers realize that they should program for it.
Consoles were here before the concept of PCs and we clearly see that PCs today are much more popular than back then when consoles dominated (I'm talking about ratios of these two, mind you, which back then was like infinite since computers probably were around 0). I think it's time to move on from the stone age concept and throw consoles in the recycle bin to get recycled into a PC
Innovation isn't something new just for kicks. It needs to be good. Nothing has stood the test of time as the mouse has, and nothing has surpassed it. So-called "innovation" is just stupid marketing trick because they KNOW that they must give out 'something new' to sell, and they obviously can't afford to do something inferior UNLESS they put that false innovation area around it? (before mind-controllers are deployed -- i.e controllers that are affected directly by your mind)

Boxing turned me off the wii real fast. I would throw 2 punches a second yet the game only registered 1 punch every two seconds.
Bowling was to easy,
Heck, I played guitar hero it was ok I guess but there is nothing different from the Wii and the regular systems.

Your opinion is too biased for me to influence you in a positive way... First of all accept the fact that peoples tastes often differ so don't jump around and say that the other consoles suck because you're incredibly wrong...
I have a very bad idea about the Wii, and before you start flaming me, I must tell you I've played more than enough... so let me start with the minuses:
- it's too gimmicky (lots of useless motion sensor controls for nothing, when you could use a simple traditional controler)
- no games (the Wii has 10-15 great games max. while the other two next gen consoles have a LOOOT more)
-_- they are using this motion gimmick to make people ignore the fact that it's actual power does not even match the power of a Ps2 console, which in my opinion is far better (known to have the biggest/best library of games to date, and still going)
Next, you're on the edge of starting a flame war between consoles which is a "no-no" on a forum so try to bring explanations to the table. I admit that I'm a Sony fanboy because till now they haven't let me down, since I love the jRPG genre... Don't misunderstand, there is more to it that graphics since I'm everything but a graphic-snow, and I love sprites to rendered 3d models but you can't deny the fact that the ps3/360 are better in the new-generation long run. Don't give me sales charts since I already said ppl were fooled by the gimmicks, and it's more for casual gamers... Hardcore ones always prefer classic controllers and real gaming experiences..
