I enjoy reading other posts, so i wont be lazy this time.
I agree with Tower that he could have that one as well. He taught me a valuable lesson which made me understand why strider choose 2 haven heroes. I never bothered to look if palas can heal poison and tower showed me that they can ! This makes me rethink my next game in my endless series of defeats vs Zilo where i would let him take haven, because when i played haven i felt quite uncomfortable taking that garrison without the meanings to cleanse that phat poison off my fellows. But with archers + 50+ Champions + 4 stacks of palas i think its even easier as with necro to take out the assasin garrison.
Game went pretty good for me. On day 1 i got 2 crap heroes, on day 2 i could enlist karli for my cause. before lvl5 i was offered light and shortly after that logs. I was lucky with the logs but tower got enlightment with his main, so i think that was evened out. Storm elementals + rune mages proved no problem with exp light + storm wind. I love that storm strike going going through rows of elememtals .
In the necro garrison i lost 111 lvl2 which hurt, but it could have been 70 more if tower hadnt insisted that ill keep them. He felt it was unfair because we replayed the fight and something changed so i didnt get luck and so on ... Very honorable of Tower !
I think Tower should have gone through the tunnels, because you get many artifacts there which give u the money youll need to built craploads of champions. Additionally the tunnels are easy with haven if u have light. Usually when arriving at necro garrison youll have 25-30 lvl 6 which massacre the undead.

In the end, some thoughts about the map:
1. it is really modern map imo, and it brings some really interesting situations and strategies to the table
2. in haven's case even extreme economics, probably it is more or less the same for most towns, resources and money especially being a problem till the very end
3. there are moments when you simply want to continue the game, because something very interesting, is going to happen
Of course there are some downsides too, I only played two full games on the map, but I think I can see them clearly:
1. Unbalanced number of creatures between levels, MegaDwellings making lvl 7 and lvl 6 too important, lower level less... One other major turn-off is the very few you get lvl 4, which you're better of not building
Perhaps they should be different:
Balrogs gives lvl 7 , lvl 6 , lvl 5 and lvl4
Fire gives lvl 7, lvl 5, lvl 4 and lvl 3
Necro gives lvl 6, lvl 5, lvl 4, lvl 3
Also replace some small dwelling(around fire or necro) with lvl 4, for making more sense using those really nice creatures
2. Water around the starting area, is a little annoying and can spoil the fun if you don't manage to get in boat by few tiles
Some land towards key locations would nice imo, and make the water a bonus place with things to pick up
3. Barlogs with incorporeal are simply a rock sometimes... and other times a passage, for might races.
Perhaps it would be better giving them 50% more HPs and that's it. There's a reason why the Bone Dragons don't have Incorporeal any more in H5 , though initial plan in beta was to give it to them
Of course, I told some of these to Zilo, some not, but i'll repeat them , just so maybe he decides to implement them

Ok, it looks that things need some accelaration here to avoid one more neverending story like Ceasars. So - Fiur and Strider - the ultimate dead-line for finishing 1/4 final game is September, 22.
Really hope you will manage to finish the game. If no, there are two further scenarios:
A - you both sort out who is responsible for delay and post it here, so one of you gets the ticket to 1/2 finals
B - DrOwnage goes directly to finals

As sad as it is, DrOwnage goes directly to finals and we are starting those. We play till 2 victories, starting setup for first game was Ellain (Zilo) v. Ebba (Dr.). Yet we both switched horses and now its Doughal v. Ingvar.
Updated score board in the first post as well.

OMG, clash of the superheroes. But I think if dwarf gets haste and massive rune-supply from Inga, they are the favourite.
According to my experience, its quite easy to be stucked in TW with haven. (Low knowledge, no haste, no money for training, without proper skills its not easy to decide which mega is the aim on week 3 and all is risky)
Good luck for both of you, but there can be only one Gandalf

I think heaven on TW is a very good faction. Just need to know what you do with them...dwarves will be ... too slow in the begining, which is almost deady.

Nice match-up, Dwarf vs. Haven is always interesting, and even though I prefer dwarfs, because runes are simply imba, Haven has nice chances also, if Zilo gets Enlightment...
Also, things seem balances in the hero field, so they are on for a nice game.

Just saw the battle. Nice, but I think loosing 1 cavalier is a big enoght loss for whats following next, not to mention loosing those over 100 peasants. Also, I think Dougal has had adv light, which is great deal regarding the fact his lvl was 7. May be taking the archers in battle could've been better choice?...just an idea
If possible I'd like to know which day this happened.
Good luck for both heroes!

Was day 9.
And agree, loses were immense and usual setup would be to use whole bunch of crossbows in the battle as well instead of this walking on the edge. The problem was that I played really carelessly in week 1, did several bad logistical decisions and lost almost all initial archers, so max I could gather was ~45 crossbows (plus doing so I would be forced to lose one more day).
If I would put those 45 on battlefield, I would lose some more, so decision was better to lose all the fodder then to cripple my range power even further.

Things are getting hopeless on your side Zilo unfortunately , despite perfect light , wind + enlight. And I have a feeling Dr hasn't encountered any problems so far.

Zilo once suicided in week1 with necro on island, got off the isle day 8 or 9 and still won a very close final vs my dwarves ^^. When he's on a losers track he considers a game interesting o_O.

I have to admit that i snowed up vs 34 Royal Griffins on day 10 and he gave me a reload. I miscalculated there because it was one stack and they didnt dive. I took only 2 ponnies and 4 thanes in the fight, because i expected there to be more stacks and diving griffins which would have made that fight easier. Needless to say 34 griffins kill unicorns with 1 hit and thanes with 2 hits.
Right now we both stand in front of the inferno garrison. I received light at lvl 15 and now at lvl 18 i have basic light. I lost approx 40 % of my lvl 2 and about 30 of my lvl 1. But i wont complain because all in all game developed quite okay for me and now that Zilo totally messed up, i can bide my time and play things safe .

And irony of fate - after this I still was 1 hex short to megadwell at day 7..
In comparison, Ingvars deeds:

Nice replays, the investment in Wol payed off pretty nicely , too bad you didn't reach the mega dwelling.
On the other hand, Dr's army seems to be week 4, so he is probably late also, and you did inflict some nice damage on his lvl 2 ! If it were week 3 things would certainly be hopeless

We are pretty close to finish in our 1st game (things are a bit slow, but watching the Ceasars story, we are speed demons ).
Saved after Dr. took the stuff. Oh, boy, this was long one, damn dwarves
Ingvar - stuff garnizon
A few turns earlier I took the ring garnizon with a few losses, but was forced to town-portal back home because spent all my mana in that fight and Ingvar was just a few steps behind.

Woow, this is entertainment at its best! At the beginning of the battle I thought to myself: OK, this is impossible for dwarves to win it. But, once again, those crazy ceasars from TOH proved me wrong.
