thing is that you don't get to that stage of caring for eachother, if you're physically incompatible. Our appearances and looks are what decides whether we get to know eachother or not
It' superficial, but it's how it goes most of the time. My hair says I'm a crazy hippy, so the people who enjoy talking with me is usually limited to the... Special people

It's not easy (if not impossible) to completely ignore the height difference yourself either.
It doesn't mean that you couldn't be able to love but many things are different when you're not about same height. You can't ignore those things as long as you have your senses (i.e. you are alive)

Ok, then why does having a much smaller female not make a difference? Would seem to be the same difference to me. Sorry guys, don't buy it.

See, again.. nobody cares about what OTHERS think.
But it matters what YOU think or feel.
And when you feel bad about something, why to pretend you don't?
I kinda agree with Bak. Mytical, you still think as a female at times
A much smaller female is a bit uncomfortable, yes, but in return, you feel like a big strong manly man next to her

Who said it wouldn't?
It's awkward when they kiss no matter who is smaller.
Where is the difference, is that size often consciously or subconsciously indicates power. When the female is smaller it doesn't feel so unusual as women's inferiority has been part of the human world since the beginning of time.
But when the male is the "subjugated" it does feel unusual.

It is no longer the 19th or 20th century. Women are not 'inferior' in any way shape or form. Different, absolutely, but not 'inferior'. Stop living in the stone age . If you get a chance check out a celebrity named 'Cat Deely' (host of So you think you can dance and 20Q). She is a rather tall woman, but I deffinately wouldn't turn her away .
Maybe I will just never understand the height issue. I am a tall person, but I know quite a few attractive females that are taller then me that are absolutely stunning. I'd consider myself a fool to dismiss them without getting to know them first.

It isn't, but it still remains in our subconsciousness you wanted it or not.

That's a different subject. I was talking about the size in relation to the size of the other, not the attractiveness of an individual. Of course, tall women can be hot. Actually there are people, called macrophiles, who have sexual fantasies of giant women

Hmm. My point is that if you have the chance with a very attractive woman (at least to get to know her) wouldn't it be kinda weird to say 'no thanks' just because she is much taller then you?
Of course attractive people (both men and women) can be 'shallow', so you have to get to know them first. If they are intelligent as well as attractive, and not 'shallow' then why would them being taller matter at all?
Edit : Some people have no issues with height, weight (up to a point of course), or such .

Mytical, while I understand your point of women not being inferior, physically, the average woman IS shorter than the average man. From that perspective, it makes sense to have the image that 'man should be taller than woman' - I don't think there's anything sexistic in it as such. Of course, I do agree that turning down someone JUST for that seems a bit like folly, but then, we can't always explain what we're attracted to.

Oh I don't think it is sexist. Maybe Vanity , but not sexist. Some women won't date a guy shorter then them either.

Hey, my problem is that tiny women (155 cm or so) have the nerve to call men like me (~175) "short". Lmfao, what do they expect, to have a man 2m high and having to carry a ladder in order to kiss him? It's absurd. I understand most men want shorter women then themselves and most women want a bigger man. But it gets ridiculous when you "have to be 30 cm taller to suit their needs" or so....

Doomforge you have some weird ladies where you are. Think you need to move or something. Generally if about equal height to the guy being about 3-4" taller is the NORM. Anything above that is ok (by me at least) but seems to be seen as 'unusual'.

Frankly said, a woman with large height difference to me would have to be more attractive for me to want to date her than a woman who doesn't have so big difference.

Now I'm confused, I thought (from another thread some time ago) that you were taller than me
I hate the american notation for height, because it uses addition of two units instead of only one.
