the photo of me was taken during the international museum night, you know, one night a year when the admission to a museum is free, and out museum of warfare hosted a nice event, where in you could wear medieval armor and noble clothing, late 18th century uniform, modern military gear as well as to get your grubby little paws on actual historic weapons from swords and muskets to modern guns (I also got to hold a Maxim machinegun modified for air combat)
Historic reenactment is something I would like to do, but there's politics involved in most of them(save I guess for WW2 reenactors, but not sure of that), infighting between clubs and so forth. too much hassle. it's also quite pricy.

Once I have enough expendable capital that's also what I would love to do.
I'd probably not find a lot that are interested in Norman Sicilian reenactment...

I liked when weapons used just for fun, but not for what it has been created.
I don't think that the battles of the past was fun, I think the battles was more like today, like the russian roulette  . In short, if you want to live, and live in the one single piece - do not go into the war.
Well, long time ago I have a desire to participate in the medieval like sport-section, but I have choices the soccer stuff, dunno why  , I don't know if it was good idea or a bad, even nowadays. But when I see weapons... it is hard for frostysh just look and think "hey it is cool!", or something like that, but I am usually remembering the actual purpose of this stuff and the results of using of some weapons is appearing in my head...

oh yeah, modern tourneys is where it's at, that's definitely ,my type of sport.
unfortunately, same as reenacting, it's quite pricey(mostly the arms and armor), and also find a club with the least amount of bull in it, since the reenactor clubs also partake in these HEMA tourneys.
But HEMA rules. A warhammer would be my weapon of choice.
