Ah, yes, Natal. I watched the E3 press conference and got a peak of this. My personal opinion is:
A. They get the hardware to be as accurate as it is in these videos, plus the voice and face recognition, and it ends up being the coolest thing in the history of videogames.
or
B. Microsoft ***** it up real bad and the thing is a waste of time. Not to mention it becomes a never ending joke amongst Sony fanboys.
The live demonstrations at the E3 press conference look promising. If anyone is interested, I'd advise watching it here. You also watch the link to Lionhead's "Milo" in the description of Cel's youtube video. In my opinion, it's the most promising part of the Natal.

I voice legitimate concerns in the vid that is no longer available because I took it down but feel free to click for no reason other than to verify what I have tried to tell you!!!
I definitely blow it out of proportion but I personally would not feel comfortable with something this capable of seeing and hearing everything within its reach.
Voice and audio capabilities.. Scanning images, so probably has the ability to see everything within its reach.
Man, Microsoft might be **** enough to sell info under the table (and the trade does not automatically mean "money" is involved.)
People might find a way to hack and watch us
It could have secret abilities
It might upgrade itself with things we dont have any knowledge of or consent to..
There is kind of a long list but the prime thing so far that I am worried about is someone being able to watch and listen to us. It might seem useless or something but who knows who or why they could actually record their entire life within their home.
I made a parody audio recording about this after seeing the first vid saying it has sonar capabilities that can "hear through walls" I know I took it way out of proportion (probably) by saying it can convert sonar results from up to 150 yards away (depending on surface area) but there is really no telling what this thing can and will actually do ultimately.
This thing without scary additions can actually be so powerful still! The next step might and could be domination ranging from levels from minor to ultimate! Especially when you factor in those potential scary abilities I mentioned. Suddenly everyone who owns a natal is controlled by commercialism in different forms, they buy from whoever microsoft suggests, etc etc.
Some national government or something becomes under question then suddenly a seemingly trustworthy face appears in homes where natal is and maybe millions of people start boycotting everything microsoft or hackers or whoever want's boycotted.
I am just worried about the potential, which is not even entirely known
edit: I just watched a second vid here and emotional interaction with it, while it is able to recognize ours, does not establish a feeling that everything is safe.
On the other side though, if it turns out to be safe it is a must have for my home, even though I would still be so paranoid that I couldn't talk about sensitive information anywhere near it.

Aww, you can't keep it up alongside it? Maybe put your actual opinion as a reply so people see it?

You seriously want my opinion?
Wasted effort. If it's only going to be marketed for gaming on a (stupid) console... just wasted potential. (I mean if MS hold patents and all )
Who will even use it for games? I much prefer the mouse because my hand won't tire. And seriously you don't expect me to show off my karate skillz on a fighting game??? I won't get past even level 1, judging by today's fighting game opponents rofl.
I'll stick to comfortable controllers any day. The only thing that's gonna make me put them on the shelves is a controller that can read my mind (not impossible) because that would be almost 0 effort in controlling everything with my mind
Then again, this thing has potential for artificial intelligence, I just hope it won't be wasted on stupid games.

That's my hope for Natal. I'm praying it doesn't follow the Wii's path of shovelware, shovelware, shovelware.
I could imagine something like "Milo" being used in an Elder Scrolls-esque like adventure game. If this technology is used correctly, you could meet, get to know and interact with characters instead of just listening to the same voice clips over and over again.

@Mvass: LOL. Well played. Hadn't noticed that.
Naughty naughty.
On-topic: I don't like this new technology too much myself. Not because of what it is, but how it can be potentially used.

I made a vid on this can you provide any further catastrophic risks? I would like to ask even though the description is lengthly to read that at least. The vid is not as important as the text.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wWIN5Qa5mQ8&feature=channel_page and please nothing crazy about me having to shave.
NATAL is a very basic form of this new technology even though it has a lot of capability. If it is not used immediately for harmful perhaps catastrophic devastating purposes like for instance two of the worst case scenarios domination of the economy or the world itself, then it will be abused my guess within 100 years.
As far as I know there is not anyway to stop anyone from altering any current hardware/software machine. The NATAL (which doesn't sound innocent I might add) is a gold mine to masterminds, and perhaps microsoft themselves are masterminding a fowl plan. As I say in the descrip computers are nice, but do not provide such functionality to encourage massive efforts to manipulate several for various evil doings. Really, I am sure it is possible to manipulate a single one NATAL to establish control over areas or the network as a whole.
It's cool, but since it is connected with some sort of online network it poses more potential threat than any other product ever produced.
Lastly, the potential is unpredictable by us and even microsoft themselves! If microsoft knew loopholes that they could not fix, I am certain they would try to hide them
And Mvass keep up the good work (and i turned your awesome twisting head into a vid but gave you credit now everyone online will find you muahahahahaaaa)

giving up games with decent gameplay for the gimmick of not actually having to hold anything.

ok /stupid joke
I just realized, software operating machines are among the greatest risks posed by things manipulated and produced by man, and, some could say bombs are worse, then I could say the worst bombs are actually controlled by software operating machines!

Yes, Milo! Finally I can have real friends!
Its amazing though. I cant wait to play a Fable 5 or Elder Scrols VII where I can actually talk to the characters and interact.
Then I can finally use my girl voice when I play females!
I wonder if you can get him addicted to drugs or make him shoot himself or something like that.
