WOG team retired?
I got this update from YahooGroups, and it kinda bummed me out ... can anyone confirm this, just so I am sure?
Quote: J> I guess from time to time we all ask... is there still any developing going on?

Well, I think we can say that The WoG Team is now retired .
Since the resign of Slava and the rise of the Russian CoreWog group, there
hasn't been much activity around here or in the WoG Team's group.
Sure, some of us still work on some WoG projects from time to time,
but nothing major for 3.59, I think.
We can just hope that the CoreWoG group will finish what Slava has
started. However maybe it would be a good idea for them to visit this
group or The WoG Team's group from time to time and post new stuff .
Afterall some people might want to help out, eg. just for
the sake of finally finishing 3.59.
regards,
Acid Dragon.

I think there is all clear here... There is a WoG team and there is CoreWoG team. Formally all WoG Team members (as me for example) by default are CoreWoG members too, but ...
1. Most of (new) CoreWoG team members are russians whose english knowledge quite poor.
2. All major WoG 3.59 developing (including exe modification) is done now by russians too.
So in general there is just no banal coordination between WoG and CoreWoG teams. WoG team now constists mostly only from scripters which are busy in real life or do (as BAD and eperbarb for example) their own projects.
Using this moment i am asking all WoG team members who are still reading this forum to visit our CoreWoG forum, so together we could try to solve the problem i described above.
And btw - those who say that WoG 3.59 is dead and wont be released just dont have enough info to judge objectively.

I don't want to be Devil's voice but I agree entirely with Acid. WoG 3.59 became now "WoG Nukem forever", a few people still work from time to time on project but it is only matter of time until there will be an official "it's over, we give up" announcement. Not that they can't do it, but, as Berserker wrote yesterday in CoreWoG forums, there is no community support and there are too few active modders, if any. No fans, no work.
People lost interest, they could not see what WoG could bring, some are too lazy to see it, others are too stickied to the original game and acting like Nazis to any noticeable change.
Too bad, because when WoG will die, all related to HoMM will die too, excepting some hardcore fans still playing the templates every day. Once they will be done, it will be over.
Slava was a genius, but I guess he could create a more friendly platform with a bit of more work, so not only programmers could touch the scripts and create the game. As it is now, it is prohibited to 99% of players. Too hard to learn it.

I'm pretty sure this won't be the case. Many "Hardcore H3 fans" didn't touch WoG, so they won't be affected by its dissappear either.

Well, I really do understand the language problem, but still - saying this to CoreWoG members - I think the WoG Team is still the best place to come for backup in case it is needed.
Afterall - they are the authors of everything that has been done until 3.58F (including my humble self , though I did join rather late) and that is something. Like I said - some of them may want to help even on their "retirement" just for the sake of finally releasing 3.59. It's just that they most probably won't come to the CoreWoG forum on their own. Heck - I even don't know where it is ;P. (Not to mention giving some insight in the things done)
Although I do understand Salamandre and I know that it may seem 3.59 has lower chances of getting done with each month passed, I still think there is hope and I do know that the CoreWoG group IS working. So if something is still moving forward - no matter the speed - it has a chance of reaching its goal.
