The eye candy thread.
Out of love for all things might and magic i have come up with this thread.
Let me explain...
*someone yells out*
Whats eye candy?!
Eye candy in map making terms is making cool looking stuff that you just want to keep looking at.
*someone else yells*
Why do we want eye candy in our maps?!
Because it looks cool.
*someone else yells*
But i already know everything!
Then this will give you inspiration.
Every day i will post a project, i will tell you how to make it step by step. While you wait for the next project to be posted show us what you have managed to create(try beating me!)

Fiurs tutorial, extracting models, effects and anims
Right lets get to work!
Project Name: Dwarven Garrison
Project Difficulty: Easy
Total time: 5-10 minutes
Step 1: Open the editor and create a map, if your low on ideas for a name use "my projects"
Step 2: Get out the following objects-
Subtera- 13xRail, 1xRail_Corner_faza,1xRail_Corner_faza_invert 3xRail_Wagon, 5xLodge
Dwellings- 1xShield Barracks
Monsters- 1xDefender
ATO(All Terrain Objects)- 2xGarrison, 2xGarrison_Dwarven_Wall
Step 3: Now its time to arrange this.
Place the Garrisons and dwarven walls in a line.
Do the same for the rails, and rail wagons.
Place the shield barracks in the middle section of wall.
look in the left sidebar where it writes Pos and change the y property(or x property, depending on positioning) so that it writes <your number>.1
You can change it to other values till you like what you see.
Step 4: Place the dwarf close by the barracks then change the position to <number>.5
Step 5: Place all the lodges and look at the sidebars of each one and click on point lights.
Step 6: Right click and click: Add light, a new file type thing appears. Go to colors and change it to something yellow.
Step 7: Change radius to 20 and you should see that light radiates from the lodges.
Till next time, L_D

Wow, that looks awesome Vlaad
Don't think I can beat that ^^
Mh, I don't dare to ask what you used for the second screen, but the first one must be this stone circle of the druids and the big Sylvan tree, right ?
But where is that horse from

I will play it when I got my gear upgraded. Pentium 4 3Ghz and 1GB RAM is way too little to fully enjoy the potential of this game.
However this guy making a map out of Academy town screen really knocked me down.

lolz, your right
I forgot to mention you had to change the x/y value of one section of the wall to .2, my bad
Well we have a new thing for you today.
Project Name: Dwarf Smelter
Project Difficulty: Easy
Total time: 5 minutes
Step 1: Open the editor and your map.
Step 2: Get out the following objects.
Subtera objects- 9xRails, 3xRail wagons, 1xLava_Road_X
Grass, trees or any other objects you like.
Grass objects- 20xFence
Monsters- 3xShieldguard
Step 3: Place the Lava_Road_X.
Step 4: Use the bulk tool on the square directly above the Lava_Road_X. Do not move it, just let it do its thing, and dont move it.
Step 5: When happy with elevation let go and place the rails.
Step 6: Place the rail wagons and edit the values to be:
Rot: 1.5(1st wagon)
x: .5 y: .5 Rot: 2.5(2nd wagon)
x: .5 (3rd wagon)
Step 7: Add the dwarves
Rot: 5.5 x: .8(Dwarf 1)
Rot: 6 x: .5 (Dwarf 2)
x: .5 (Dwarf 3)
Step 8: Lay your fence like you would any other, it will keep the darned kids of your lawn!
Till tomorrow, im Lucky_Dwarf

Well im sorry ive been gone yesterday but ive been working on this:
Project Name: Tropical Island
Project difficulty: Easy
Total Time: 9 min
Step 1: Open the editor and your map.
Step 2:
The island itself is made of three things,
Sand objects: Ferns, Palms
Grass objects: A lone mountain
Place these randomly and in thin bunches.
Step 3: Pick some palms and ferns and change the scale from 100 to 1000(the limit is 200 so it will edit itself) This will make it more elf like(elfs have huge trees in ashan)
(picture above)
Project Name: Fortuitous Oasis
Project difficulty: Easy
Total time: 2 min
Step 1: On the same map place the folowing:
Grass objects: 8xFence
Sand objects: Ferns, Palms, 1xOasis
ATO- 1xFountain of Fortune
Step 2: Place the fence, Oasis, palms and ferns.
Step 3: Edit the x value of the fountain of fortune too .95 and the y to .5
Project Name: Elven outhouse
Project difficulty: Easy
Total time: 2 min
Step 1: On the same map take out the following
Dwellings: 1xFairy tree.
Sand objects: Ferns, Palms
Step 2: Place the fairy tree and change the z property to -6.3
Step 3: Place the ferns and repeat the same thing you did you did in the previous project.
Tip: when your playing with elevation do not move the object or the elevation resets. Also, when you use the bulk, dig or river tool the elevation resets Visually, but if you drag your selection box over it, it will reset visually to its elevation.
Project Name: Elven Beach House
Project difficulty: Moderate
Total time: 3 min
Step 1: On the same map put the folowing objects:
Dwelings: 1xHunters Cabin
Sand objects: Ferns, Palms
Step 2: Place your objects and change the elevation to -3.
Step 3: By using Fiurs tutorial were going to extract an elder druid which you can find at...
Model location: Creatures-Preserve-Druid Elder
Animation location: Creatures-Preserve-Druid Elder
Step 4: Change the location of the Druid to X=.3 Z=.45
Voila!
Project Name: Shrine of Nature
Project difficulty: Easy
Total Time: 4 min
Step 1: Place random foliage, rocks, ferns, mushrooms etc. and change the value so that you will have more convincing looking ferns.
Step 2: Place the palm trees like I did in the picture.
Step 3: Place the Shrine of Magic Thought in the center.
Step 4: Add a light green light with a radius of 20.
Your done.
Finally we have a dance party.
Project Name: Leprechaun Dance Party
Project difficulty: Moderate
Total Time: 5 min
Step 1: Place three logs as seats
Step 2: Change the y value to .5 for the first log and change the rot value of the second log to 2.5. Leave the third log alone.
Step 3: Take out a campfire, and using Fiurs tutorial we will extract some leprechauns to dance for us. You will find him at :
Model location: Terrain Objects-Grass-Flowers-Flower_13(id have used the original model but then the garden would have come along.
Animation Location: Buildings-MisticalGarden-adv
Step 4: Place the leprechauns around the fire changing theire z value to -.2 and change the middle leprechauns x and y value to .5
