Just because I can, I am starting a map, which I actually hope to finish(all maps I have even attempted failed, no matter what.).
And to make sure it gets done, I am posting all the progress I am making here.
What will the map be about?
A cruel tyrant named Marleto has ruled the northern part of the country for a looooong time. There are all sorts of problems that have arisen in the past year. As an agent for Lord Conbrad, you have been sent to quell his tyranny. There is however a challenge facing you. There is a gate that can only be opened by the border guard. You must right the wrongs in the land before they will give you the key.
Project Name: Cyclops Pond
Project difficulty: Easy
Total Time: 10 minutes max
Your first quest, Cyclops Pond.
A cruel cyclops has blocked the irrigation system with a boulder! What is he doing there, you ask yourself? Why, he is having a nice bath, but the smell! There have been many a knight who have been felled by the smell alone! This brute settled here more than 5 months ago, and already have the trees decayed. See that farm over there? That used to give the best pumpkins in the Empire! All ruined. *sniff*
What must you do? You must slay the cyclops and move his boulder after the cyclops poop has settled.
-The very disgusted bard.
Step 1: Open your map.
Step 2: Take out the following
Fiur objects(objects that need extracting)- 3xPumkin types 1xCyclops 1x Farm, 1xStranded footman/Stranded peasant.
Treasure- 1xGold treasure to stuff the giant pumpkin with.
Grass obj- Fences, grass , hay
Taiga obj- Trees
Step 3: First make the pond, using the river tool. Add your various trees.
Step 4:
Take out the Fiur Cyclops
Cyclops
Model:Characters\Creatures\Orcs\T7_Orc\T7a_Cyclopes
AnimSet:Characters\Creatures\Orcs\T7_Orc\T7c_BloodedCyclopes-arena
change the z cord to -2
Step 5:Take out the farm
Model:_(Model)\Buildings\Dwelings\Haven\Peasant_Hut_1
Decorate it, one pumpkin should be fake and super sized so you can access the gold.
Step 5: Extract the blockage.
A bunch of broken wood.
Model:_(Model)\TerrainObjects\Water\Floatsam.(Model)
AnimSet:_(AnimSet)\TerrainObjects\Water\Floatsam-adv.(AnimSet)
A stranded peasant.
Model:_(Model)\TerrainObjects\Water\Shipwrecks\Peas_wrick
A stranded footman.
Model:_(Model)\TerrainObjects\Water\Shipwrecks\Footman_wrick
I will continue to make these, and if you want quest suggestions that you think would be good enough for the setting, please post the ideas and I will dedicate a section of the map to that idea.

I like the idea with the footman and the pesant stopping the bog water, very innovative.
Happy smoking session

Shouldn't happen. Just create a new folder and then your object.
If it still doesn't work, pm me on drachenwald.

Naadir,
I just found this thread a couple of days ago. Hats off to Lucky Dwarf for creating it, and to you for bringing it back to life. I would definitely like to see how you made your mod.
Also, can anyone tell me where I can find Fiur's tutorial. I've already had to re-install the game because I screwed up trying to extract an archer.
Thanks

Hey guys, last year I made a decent map full of scripts. However, it's plain empty and I didn't decide for release. Could you please eyecandize it? I'll mention you in credits.

Hello everyone,
It's been a while since anyone's been here, but I wanted to post a few screenshots from a map I've been playing around with. Thanks to lucky_dwarf, Fiur, Markkur, and everyone else who started digging around in the map editor to bring out its potential.
P.S. Sorry about the size. I couldn't figure out how to make them bigger without distorting the picture.

Wow Crispy_Critter, very impressive. I really like that Academy "port". For my tastes, the thing that really impresses me is more nature-focused (like the big Sylvan tree or "the storm back in the rocks") although most of the dwelling-mods look very good too and provide much-needed variation.
I wonder why noone's made a eye-candy-object-pack to share? I would have used it long ago and gave the credits for that use on any map I made.
<imo> There is not a version of HoMM that has had near enough objects for creating maps. The "scenes" we can create are always way too limited. Like "snow-stuff" Maybe one day a developer will supply far more objects than only what they needed for their campaigns.
