The "I want Psychic/Magic Elementals back" thread
They were powerful units in HoMM 3, had mind spell immunity, attacked all adjacent enemies, and the Magic Elementals are just awesome. All the previous advantages, plus all spell immunity!
I seriously missed them in HoMM 4. I haven't played HoMM 5, but as far as I'm informed, they aren't there either.
Should they come back with other Elementals in HoMM 6? What do you think? Personally, the Conflux town never having apperaed in any sequel after HoMM3 AB, I think they could at least be neutral units in future Heroes. I mean, why do some Fire or Air Elementals deserve it more than these guys?

Because Fire and Air are elements in the "classical" element system with fire, air, earth, water, and magic is NOT...
there could be units like that, but why make and call them "elementals"?!?

Agree with this. If Magic is an element... well, we can have Might elemental, Luck elemental, Morale elemental, Rage elemental (all sorts of wierd thingy).

I think you can have units like the Psychic Elemental, with the Same abilities and so, but bring them back? No.
They just don't make sense as a creature.

Yeah, I'm all for the Conflux returning, but I don't think Magic and Psychic elementals were well conceived, neither thematically nor visually. In the current scheme of the elemental dragons and dragons of light and darkness, I wouldn't be against some sort of "Light Elemental" and "Darkness Elemental", even if they were to bear other names.

another name?
what about incarnation or spirit.
maybe these wouldn't fit for psychic, but a darkness incarnation sounds pretty tough.
perhaps avatar could be used too. (I don't know what it means but I guess it's a bit lika an incarnation)

I'd rather they were not evil, but that unit was for me one of the coolest in the game, all the more so for not being in either of my favorite factions (fortress and necropolis).
Immune to magic and when that guy pulls his coat out everything around him dies
"Elemental" in the name should go away though.
Maybe just call them Planeswalkers.

In an interesting development, it turns out that there 'is' a fifth classical element, aether (aka void, sky, heaven), which may or may not be applicable in this case.

Yes, the Aether, also sometimes refered to as "the nothingnes" or "the divine element" was what was outside the lunar orbit. Thus, the inner part of the solar system was comprised of the "worldly" elements Earth/Fire/Water/Air, and the outer parts where the planets and stars were was filled with the "outer-worldly" element, the Aether.

Well the magic ele has a shirt underneath, and is sexless, so it's not a perv
Alright, Time Warper anyone? Neutral alignment, and when it attacks it pulls at all adjacent enemies, attempting to draw as many as possible outside of time.

I'd say Void Elemental is a good representation of magic Elemental, the absence of elements.

Of course, light and dark are supposed to be elements now as well, but I really can't picture 'those' Elementals.

Isn't that a bit paradoxal? An Element... of Nothingness?

Sith's right actually, the Void Ele would be like the Null of the Elemental system, like zero is among numbers, or the space among letters. And without zero much of modern maths and maths-based science would be impossible.

Its the absence of magic, just as space is the absence of matter or zero is the absence of distance.
It could make magic null and void. It makes good sense.
