Heroes 2, Heroes 3 and Vista
Firstly, please do not advise me to upgrade my OS back to XP. I am perfectly aware that I need to do that; but the vast amount of programs I have to reinstall and the amount of data I have to back-up prevent me from doing so. Initially my graphics card did not have any drivers for Windows XP; so I had to do with Vista from the beginning.
My problems are the following: Heroes 3 is generally stable, but there are occasional crashes to desktop during the AI's turn or the autosave period. Thanks to the autosave feature it never is a serious problem; but if someone has managed to overcome the same problem, I would like to hear how.
The second concerns Heroes II. The game opens fine, but the wave sound effects play only for a second, and it crashes when I gather a resource. Does anyone have the same problem?
Thanks in advance.

Well, as I mentioned to another person having problems with 64-bit Vista. You could always install Windows 98 or 2000 from an old CD you have lying around onto a virtual machine using Microsoft VirtualPC. That program is great for running old software without it messing with your new OS' security features =D

I will try it now. I would give anything for a computer that simulates Win98; but I heard they still had some problems in making some software work. I will still give it a shot though.
