I don't see any point in making two factions without substantial reason.
It's only a gradual difference between the suggested 'revamp contest' and the original one since the classification depends on how far you diverge in your town idea from, for example, the Haven of H5 or H4 or whatever. This argument is validated by Mytical's statement that you could submit one town to both contests. So where's the point in only seemingly having two contest?
The ultimate question is whether to have the ICTC now or to wait till an official announcement of H6 (to go with the popularity boost of such news)? May be somebody should rather do a poll on this question...
Also, what I cannot understand, is when Mytical says: Quote:

Why should anyone still make up new H5 towns when there clearly is no sense to it anymore? No new Add-ons or things alike. The only possible future is H6!

I am entering the compition for the first time and I would like to start by making my own faction. I am satisfied with the orginal factions from the game and feel no need to change them. Is this a problem?

No, not really. It is after all create a faction contest, not create a whole new game contest. IF there were going to be a Factions Revisited portion (which it seems there is not) then that particular part of the contest you would not want to enter in, but the original ICTC has no limits on new factions.

Well that's good This may be the last time we get to make a Heroes V faction before Heroes 6. Wouldn't want to miss this oppurtinity.
