Favorite Scenarios?
I've been looking through the threads for H4 and didnt see much talk about any of the scenarios. Do you people only play campaigns or something?
Well what scenarios do you like/dislike or whats your favorite one if there is one?
My favorite is probably Zanfas challenge.
Its the only XL map (wish there was more), and I like how its laid out. There are rivers you can take, and there are many routes you can take to navigate around the map.
Ive done it a few times now and know the map fairly well.

Hi and welcome to the forum. Please try to search older threads before posting a new one, because this topic has already been discussed several times.
Zanfa's Challenge is probably my favorite scenario too, mainly because it was the only XL map that came with the game. However, there have been lots of great custom maps since then. Check out this page for some suggestions or this one for some additional reviews. You can find more maps on maps4heroes, while the most balanced scenarios are available on Tournament of Honor.

The one map I play the most is Land of our Forefathers.
I think it's an enjoyable large map, but without taking forever.
My favourite must be Zanfas Challenge. A XL map, where you really can get a good hero and where you work more for reaching your goal.
Only problem is that I HATE the fact that your objective is to conquer those four towns on the middle island - I prefer when it is to defeat all enemies and tries to play after that rule when I play it.

Ya Land of the Forefathers is pretty good too.
I like the maps that start off relatively balanced for all sides.
In Zanfas challenge I usually hang out on the Island and guard the neutral towns from the computers, if I can. There are lots of monsters and resources and power-ups there to make strong heros. Just have to get there first, and thats more or less difficult depending on what color you pick.
If you hate the win condition where you have to capture just the four towns, I think you can disable it with the map editor.
I dont think it will let you save over the existing file, but you can save another copy of it with a different name and change the map however you want.

Of course I can disable it! Why didn't I think of that before? Haha. I have made changes in other maps before (without saving over the original). Thank you for reminding me

Sanral's Charge is a great map. Lots of power-ups, lots of towns, and a fair bit of underground to make this large map even larger.
I don't like the map Land of the Forefathers anymore. There are no power-up buildings to learn basic skills. Except for maybe one or two in the middle of the map.

I don't recall that Ive ever done this one or escape from Bigguns playground.
Aren't they small maps? I usually don't play those ones.
I'll keep those in mind to try next time I get into this game.

I thought that one was pretty entertaining too. Especially with the story bits that would pop up from time to time. (I love stories, they're what keep me coming back.)
