a surreal game

here's an idea.

a game based on really, really, really surreal concepts.

ancient cults with bizarre members trying to summon strange aliens in order to conquer the world whilst at the same time, a group of unreal misfits seek to destroy the apocolyptic agents or normalacy using the tears of children, the bicycle of abraham lincoln and a slightly fat cat...

basically, this thread is about surreal games that are made, or to be made, strange ideas and bizarre enemies.

There's a very very old game that I played years ago, but I'll never forget it... unlike its name. You play as a guy in a coma that goes through some weird adventures in his own twisted mind while the doctors are trying to save him. I remember something about huge bees that you need to swat and other weird creatures. The last thing I remember (which is also the place I got stuck at) is a little girl at the right side of the screen playing with a football. (soccer ball for you crazy Americans) You appear on the left side of the screen. She passes the ball to you, it bounces on the ground until it reaches you. You catch it and bounce it back to her. She bounces it to you again, this time harder. After a couple of passes the ball bounces high enough to reach your head... at which point it opens its teeth-filled mouth and bites your head off. If you somehow manage to avoid the ball and let it bounce over you and disappear off the screen, the sweet little girl pulls out a knife, slowly approaches you with a wicked grin on her face and guts you.

Like I said, I'll never forget that game.

Thanks, I was looking for it.
There it is in all it's weird glory!

Damn, after all those years it still manages to freak me out and annoy to no end. I mean, you start the game inside a cotton candy machine! Where else will you see such a thing?

Here is one hell of a surreal game for you, a 2D RTS-style thing involving four distinct factions of floating octopi, battling a plague of freaky black appendages. It's an awful lot more sophisticated than I make it sound, filled with psuedo-Buddhistic philosophy, plenty of gameplay depth and a kickass soundtrack medlied with Gregorian chants. I enjoyed it a lot when I was younger and would've appreciated a sequel. One of the factions was named "the Cepheans" but that has nothing to do with it
