Bah.
Lists are boring.
I ask of you to post some song that you dearly love, but preferably that is not so greatly known.
Post one or two, so I can download it quickly...

ToH demands too much!
Stay with Me is excellent! Under My Feet not so much but good anyway...
Anyway, although I still listen from 80's pop to death metal, I'm kinda lately turned on 'alternative' side, just take a look what I downloaded recently...
With special nod to Asian Dub Foundation Fortress Europe, download these, you wont be dissapointed...

nice to see someone else from around here listens to the stuff I did. ;-)
I noticed on your list that you like Mortal. I really enjoyed their Fathom, Wake and Pura albums. Which did it for you?

Well, it's often said that only a thousand people bought the Velvet Underground's first album but every single one of them then went out and started a band. I'd call that making a difference.

Hmm ... to show one's age, or not? I had an older brother who was a teen in the early seventies, so he influenced my musical tastes a lot, but I'm not as old as he is ... lol!
first song i remember hearing (probably in 1973) ...
"Joy to the World" -Three Dog Night, you know, "Jeremiah was a bullfrog ..."
artists my mom listened to, and i was heavily influenced by these artists because we were in the car a lot when I was young ...
Helen Ready
John Denver
Dionne Warwick (the songs of the great Burt Bacharach. is he a relative of yours, insa? lol)
Then I listened to pop artists ... (i was a pre-teen in the disco era)
Bee Gees
KC & the Sunshine Band
ELO (Electric Light Orchestra)
And many more ... I was into disco big time ... and you can laugh all you want. Disco is beautiful ... the synthesis of rock and symphonic music ... perhaps the pinnacle of Western music ... Mozart in the modern era. lol!
Plus I listened to a lot of non-disco soul and soft rock in that era ...
Stevie Wonder
Hall & Oates
Barry Manilow
Then testosterone hit me, and the world changed. I was converted to metal by Led Zeppelin's "Stairway to Heaven," and I became a Zeppelin fanatic.
Here are my favorite bands when I was a teen ...
Led Zeppelin
Def Leppard
Blue Oyster Cult
The Who
AC/DC
The Moody Blues
Then I went to college, and my tastes mellowed out a bit. I started listening to ...
Pink Floyd
The Rolling Stones
The Grateful Dead
The Beatles
But I also picked up some more metal ...
Triumph
Megadeath
Rush
After college I got into classical. Here are my favorites:
Mozart
Vivaldi
Bach
Rachmaninoff
Now I look for old, precise, and complicated rock music ...
Todd Rundgren
Little River Band
Peter Gabriel
Ambrosia
... just to name a few. I think our musical histories say a lot about us. Most of us know more about music than we do about history or politics. Perhaps that's because music is more important!

Now let's see...
Led Zeppelin - No album in particular...
Rage against the Machine - R.A.T.M. and Evil Empire (The Battle for L.A. wasn't quite as good, a bit too comercial)
Metallica - Ride the Lightning
Apocalyptica - Plays Metallica, Harmagedon and Cult
Pearl Jam - Ten and VS
Chikiliki Tu-A - Chodte sa hrat pred Vlastny Vchod(in english Go play infront of your own house)... theair a crazy Slovak, undeground alternative/heavy rock/ band.
The Sex Pistols - Nevermind the Bollocks and anything live from them
Ska-P - anything, simply anything from these lads
Edelweiss Piraten - Music against Politics
Los Fastidios - Guardo Avanti, or, well practicaly anything... Realty a great band.
