Poll Question:
Caesar tournament need changes or not ?

So let's continue this explosive discussion started in Warlords topic, i hope in more serious manner. Let's analise some facts from last Caesar. After first game on Genesis Dark Realm, Strider want other map for game n3. He was n1 Emperor, and i think, he have the right to ask Jinxer to choose other map. Maybe he get bored by this map, maybe he seen imbalances of this map. Jinxer ignored Strider request,  hoo know maybe this why Strider disappear ... Another fact - game n2 was in progress and i ask Firedragon how is going. Response was - "i don't know man, this map is a little bit stupid, Strider get some Phoenixes... ". Firedragon was disappointed by map for game n2 too. So, i think, forcing top players play on maps they don't like it's not best way to solve problems ... I think is match better to let players decide maps to play. One player decide map for game n1, another choose the map for second game. This way players play at least 50% of games in the way they like... Think about it - it is fair to force players play a lot of games during a year in the way they don't like ? Only players are guilty in very slow Caesar progress, or system is not working ?

Now about future Caesar, no idea if it will be at all, but let's talk ... All my TOH carrier i try to prove One faction dedicated player is the way better compared to random faction player. I proved somehow this by reaching n1 position in TOH ranking. Also i random map player 100% this days... Let's see what may happen in future Caesar. Example. Natalka-Infinitus. Natalka will not agree to play on random map, i will not agree Genesis. She's best interest is to force me to play random hero/faction on custom static map cos she is random players and not play at all random maps. Jixer will say play my Genesis Dark realm ... As result my preferences will be completely  ignored. I can't accept this sorry. But I can accept to play one game on Genesis, and after one game on random map.
Another argument are we will be 7 random faction emperors and will force you to play on custom map, random hero. So this is the right way to go - majority completely ignore minority ? It is fair to allow player during season to choose hero, play random maps and then Caesar come, say - sorry static map/random faction only ? Can be player called Caesar if he completely ignore random maps ?
Looks like only solution for me is to recruit random maps players on UBI server and make from minority majority

It's ok as it is.
Need more clear setup, rules.

It's not a matter of Caesars but the people who participate in them. And you will have to play custom/random hero

I played a lot of custom maps, and i know to play them, most of them are too boring after 20+ games played.

Then it seems you will have no choice but to NOT enter the next Ceasars if there is one. Since you will be UNWILLING to play correctly.

Again, the TOH tournaments are not here to please only you Infinitus.. If you are matched with an opponent in Ceasars that is willing to play you on random then GREAT for you. But you cannot force it. And you just proved by this statement that you are familiar enough with Custom maps to beable to compete, so you cannot claim later that you dont know them.  Suck it up and PROVE you are a good as you claim, cause right now everyone knows that you are a One Map Wonder only. If you win Ceasars by playing a multitude of maps, then you CAN claim to be as good as you say, and will have EARNED the right to say that.

I have nothing to prove here. I have a lot of emperors blood on my hands. Firedragon and Willgefors on HG, CHN Vimp on Genesis, etc ...

You are 100% correct.  But on the same token, the other 98% of players should have equal Freedom to not have to suffer thru Random 2M map. TOH has always been about Democracy. Majority has always ruled here. And on rare occasion that a complete impass is reached, then Vesuvius steps in and makes a decision.  You cannot just change 10 years of history just because you are incapable or unwilling to expand your horizens. As always, if 2 players absolutely cannot agree to a map, then ves will assign a randomly chosen map. Then like it or not, you will have to play it.. Just like in the same way that Strider and FireDragon was forced to play the silly random wars map.  BOTH refused to agree to the others map so I had to choose a map that was on Maps page that neither of them had ever played AND that was also not on eithers request list. But thats the risk you take when you refuse to compromise.

Exactly equal rights, i must accept map choosed by my opponent for first game, he must accept map choosed by me for second game.

Here is another example. Semifinal Strider-Kispagat, all games was played on TW. And TW is native ground for Strider. I think Kispagat was in big disadvantage. If they played 50/50 TW and HG (native ground for Kispagat) results of semifinal could be different.

Infinitus you are wrong . TW was Kispagat native ground since he and Zilo playtested it and played tons of games every night while Strider didn't play it since Caesars.

Also you think you are great when you have won emperors...that is nothing - you will be great when your win-loss ratio is 2:1 with them. Several victories mean nothing.
Good example is kontr - he has won chn-vimp, firedragon, kispagat. Does he say he is so great- no!

From Kispagat statistic page: game played on HG - 101, game played on TW - 56. For Kispagat best chances to win vs Strider was on HG, perfect native ground ...

For me is enough to have 1:1 ratio vs most of them to not be called noob, also statistic don't know about games they don't want to continue ... Some players think is good to finish only games were are chances to win for them ...

I think you can hardly call a map that is played under 10 times, native ground for someone, unless they did a lot of single action.

Elvin is spot on. There is no insurance for complete donk behaviour, which alas it just too frequent in our little community. But - i have some (minor) hope when Infinitus (lowest odds in my books of making next ceasar a neverending drama, but odds just increased) agrees to at least play half the games on a map picked by opponent.
