R.E.A.L : Rebirth
Following the adventures of our confused heroine Marissa as she tries to figure out if she is a human or a machine. When we last left Marissa she (with a lot of help) had managed to dismantle all the other R.E.A.L.(s).
A row of screens are lit up, displaying the fight between Marissa and the other R.E.A.L. Units. Tactical data flashed rapidly, highlighting movements of joints and muscles for each motion. A tall man with short black cropped hair watched unmoving. Behind him a door slid open quietly, and a hawk nosed shrimp of a man wearing a white lab coat walks in.
"Sir.."
"Was you able to retrieve the data?" the tall man interupted.
"Yes sir, but I have come.."
"To tell me that you were unable to retrieve it all. No matter, we have enough to restart the project. Begin the process of duplicating what research you were able to salvage."
"Yes sir.."
"And Caldin?"
"Yes sir?"
"The next time you come to tell me something I already know, you may want to make your final arrangements. I don't handle incompetence well."
"Y-y-yes sir." Caldin was almost frozen in fear.
"You may leave now Caldin."
"Yes..yes sir." Caldin made a hasty retreat. The general was not one to make idle threats.
General Todd Bridge watched the display, eyes unblinking, still not moving. Almost as if he was entranced. "You would make a great soldier, too bad I will have to kill you." he sighed regretfully. Finally he broke his eyes away from the main screens, and walked over to another screen. Pushing a few buttons the screen came on. Lined up row after row were mercenary volunteers. All wearing just boxers, looking straight ahead.
"Soon, I will have an army of soldiers totally loyal, with access to all the fighting skills, tactics, and knowledge of the greatest military minds ever. You my soldiers will help me remake this festering nation great once again." his eyes shone with a hint of madness, and a lot of pride. He had most of the R.E.A.L. program, and access to scientist who could rebuild what was lost, maybe even improve on it. All thanks to Uncle Sam, who was clueless as to his real agenda.
((This is just a teaser intro into - REAL (Season1). The prior one being a pilot episode of course  . If you think that Bridge is the only threat on the horizon...well.. you will just have to stay tuned))

Marissa's life had changed a lot since the battle. It had only been maybe a month, and everybody in her life had pretty much changed. She was shuttled from place to place by friends of the military people that had decided to help her. She couldn't even stay in contact with them, or contact any of her old friends..just in case somebody was listening. At least they had found several of the emergency stashes, and she had plenty of identies and cash if she needed.
By the time she hit New Mexico, she had given up trying to remember names. By the time she learned the names, she had been passed on to another group. Each was friendly and helpful enough, but didn't want to get to close..because if they did somebody might come after them if it was learned they were helping her. Marissa couldn't blame them. They had family, lives, and she was dangerous to be around.
Finally, however, they told her she would be staying somewhere for a bit. A desert. Out in the middle of nowhere, in a small town. Less chance of anybody recognizing her, and plenty of places to hide if things went wrong.
So she got passed to a couple of people who would be giving her a place to stay. They, and they alone would know who she was. At least she would be able to learn their names.

Uh-oh.
Small town.
Everybody knows everybody.
I smell trouble...
Anyways. Know that at least one person reads and enjoys these. So keep it up.

((Will apologize for my worse then normal spelling tonight))
Somewhere out in the desert, the sounds of drums and thunder can be heard. A young girl sits on a log, tapping out a too familiar beat, while a older man deances an all to familiar dance. Shirtless and painted, he looks to the heavens calling out in a language long forgotten. Yet the skys answer, with lightning and thunder.
As the tempo of the drums and dance increase, so to does the storm. Just as both hit their creshendo, everything comes to a dead stop. The mystery man throws up his hands to the heavens, tossing his head back and waits. There is a pause, then the sky opens up and the rain comes crashing down hard. It settles into a gentle rain, but the man has his answer.
Tired and weary he goes over to the girl on the drum. She takes a blanket, and wraps him up in it, not worrying about being wet herself. "What is it Grandfather? What do the spirits say?" He is actually her father, but the term is one of respect. He has earned the title, many many times over.
"My daughter, always the impatient one." he chides gently. "Your vision is right. Something of great importance is happening, not to far from here. The spirits speak of a great evil about to be unleashed to the land, unless it is stopped. You must go to the place in your dream, and help the one you have seen. If they fall, I fear nothing will stop this thing."
The girl was afraid of this, but more afraid of something else. "What of you Grandfather? I can not leave you here by yourself."
"Nonsense, I am strong like the oak. My leaves might be a little faded, but I have weathered many storms. Go, follow your vision quest. The spirits will protect me." he smiles.
"Yes Grandfather. I have long learned never to second guess you. I will return when I can." she kisses his forehead, and sets off for a small town in the desert.

Not long after the girl leaves, two figures stealthily traverse the desert. They are dressed in the most advanced military gear available. Without making a sound they communicate with each other, using coded hand signals..one of them has spotted their objective.
As they moved on the spot, one of them heard something. They turned around..and there was nothing there. Just nerves, they thought..when they turned back around their partner was laying with throat slashed. They started to call out for reinforcements, but didn't make it. A figure rose and finished them off before they could.
It wasn't enough, however..more figures in military clothing come bursting out from under cover. Shots were fired..it was quick and painless. "Redbird to Bluejay. The girl is not here, I repeat the girl is not here. Two of our men are down. Orders?"
"Bluejay to Redbird..I warned you despite his age he was not to be taken lightly. See if you can track the girl. She is important to our mission. Do not bother to come back if you do not find her."
It started to rain gently, as the man known as Grandfather was placed into a body bag next to the two that he had managed to eliminate. He had known his destiny, and had sent his daughter away to protect her. Knowing that his daughter was like the wind, and these men would never catch her..he had died on his own terms.
((Now the question is..how the heck did you guess?!))

Captain Lue Lebeau had never seen anything like it. He had fought in two wars, seven if you counted the ones that officially never happened, and whatever this thing was..it was not going down. It tore through the tanks like they were paper, and shrugged off rpg's like a duck shrugged off water.
One of his men hit the ground next to him, and shouted "It's gone haywire Captain!! What the heck are we going to do?!"
That..thing was supposed to be on their side. Some new government super weapon after the failure of a project called 'R.E.A.L.'. Unfortunately, somebody had apparently forgotten to tell IT that. As soon as combat had started, the 20 metric tons of equipment had decided that everybody and everything around it was it's enemy. Captain Lue definitely did not want to be it's enemy.
"Retreat, get the men out of here. However fast they can move, make them move faster. We have nothing to even slow this thing down." he hated to admit it, but it would be like ants fighting a giant. With enough soldiers, he MIGHT be able to take it down, but he didn't have that many..
"What about you Captain?"
"I've got to try to give it a target heading the other way. Now move!!!"
All things considered his plan worked very well..as soon as he shot at it, the thing focused on him. He was able to (To Be continued)

Me either right now, just trying to get the creativity going. Hoping to get it back on track. Free writing is what they call it, first thing to come to mind. Mostly though I am introducing main characters, it WILL all tie together (with luck) eventually.
