Shiny new soundtrack
Momentarily I'm working on a soundtrack modification for HOMM V.
Personally I found the orriginal soundtrack dissapointing to say the least.
So now I'm replacing the original soundtrack with other songs.
First it was a personal project, but I would like to find out wheter others are interested and if people have suggestions.
Curent changes:
Town songs:
Haven: HOMM III - Castle
Necropolis: HOMM III - Necropolis
Sylvan: HOMM III - Rampart
Dungeon: HOMM III - Dungeon
Academy: HOMM III - Tower
Inferno: HOMM III - Inferno
Fortress: BFME II - The Dwarves Explore
Stronghold: HOMM III - Stronghold
Dwelling songs:
Academy: HOMM III - Conflux
Stronghold: HOMM III - Fortress
Combat themes
Fortress: Fortune plango vulnera (from Carmina Burana)
Currently it's all WIP, just let me hear your thoughts.

This was the first modding I did, and trying to make every faction unique, I went with finding music that made them stand out musically from another, like this:
Haven- Generic medieval tracks in peace, epic tracks (mostly immidiate music and x-ray dog) in war.
Fortress- Bagpipe and other instruments in music played in peace to give them a distinctive scottish feel (to go with the kilts!),Irish/Scottish/Scandinavian sounding instrumental metal in combat.
Necropolis- Creepy music, mostly with organ or simply just spooky tracks were used. In war, there are also some songs with faint vocal chanting. Epic tracks were also used that contained chanting, X-ray Dog's "Gothic Monsters" being sort of the main theme for the faction.
Inferno- Faint chanting, less eerie than necropolis and more violent. In war, the music consists of epic tracks but much darker in nature from the haven ones.
Stronghold- Drums and other "primitive" instruments, giving them a tribal atmosphere.
Sylvan- Very peaceful, light music reminiscent to the original town theme (which is the only original kept), in combat, I use music with a positive beat containing flute here and there.
Dungeon- Very dark music with echoes and female chants, giving the feeling of being inside a cave like how the city is represented. Combat music consist of music with a slight techno beat, all with faint female chanting.
Academy- Indian/arabian all around.
Siege music is be a bit more epic and badass but in the style of the faction's regular battle themes, since these battles happen less often.
Some music was also imported from Heroes 3 that fit my re-imagining of the music. Also, Tavern music was chosen based on what I thought music played in a tavern would sound like for the different factions.
Of course, all this is based on my own personal taste and might not reflect yours at all. Epic tracks get old quickly unless you have many in rotation (for which I used the H5 Music Changer to increase the amount of tracks) and not everyone might be fond of folk metal for dwarves.

Okay, thank you.
About epic, what do you think about "Mother Earth" as the Sylvan siege music.
