Lands of Celtica
Hello there.
I'm LarvaExotech, I'm from Poland, 20 years old and I'm C++/Delphi programmer. I would want to introduce you in my mod "Lands of Celtica" to Heroes3. Its still in development.
It will be a mod for Heroes 3, it will be created using WOG HD Mod, TE (Wog 3.59) and ERA platworm. There will be special program runned with game (automatically) that will implement some new features. It will be released in English, but then I'm planning translating it to Polish and maybe other laguages as well.
What is done now?
There is one new unit in necropolis town - Skeleton Piercer (ripped from Serious Sam game). Its currently fully animated, has portraits (big and small), statistics, adventure map defs so its completed 100%.
Some spell changing:
Blind spell on expert has a chance of working on more than one creatures - it always connects on target creature but other enemy stacks have 10% chance of being blinded as well.
Misfortune is replaced by Doom spell. This spell kills 10% of units in stack each battle round.
Weakness spell is replaced by Vicousness. This spell poisons creature dealing damage similar to power of magic arrow each turn.
Cure, Death Ripple, Destroy Undead, Fireball and Frost Ring has increased power.
Inferno is now level 5, costs more mana than Chain Lighting and it deals a bit lower damage than Chain Lighting. Its not "a bit stronger fireball" anymore!
Magic Mirror is now called "Magic Shield" and it blocks damage for one ally creature with caster mana (on expert 1 mana points can block 10 damage).

Some interface changes - the panel with resources was enlarged to fit Mithril resource and Mana (it will be used to cast adventure spells in future). Also on the top there is a small panel with shields - they are indicating which color is currently played and what colors are alive.
Combat music is now diffrent for every nation. So if you are playing castle, you hear diffrent music than playing necropolis.
Almost all of music tracks were changed to new ones as well as some sound effects.
Also there is a new set of cursors that are dynamically changing depending on player color.

What are future plans?
> More units to each town. I think I will use some created DEFs posted on this and other forums, because I'm not skilled in sprite creating.

At the moment, I'm almost capable of adding new city into the game. The problems are:
> City selection in menu, before starting game - I think I would need help someone with backward-engineering knowledge.
> Creature DEFS - i'm not able to make really good and detailed creature defs like other teams.
> City look - like above
> AI managment - so they will know how to play new city.
> Creature limit - I found some soft on russian forum that is capable to enlarge creature list but its in russian and i havent played with it. I must test it.
But adding new city in game its possible for me now.

I'm writing this thread because I'm asking for a help. I would want to recruit people that are skilled in DEFmaking, and mapmakers later on. If someone is intrested, or someone has ideas for mod, I will be happy if I see them in this thread )

Maybe you should look around and join any existing project, such as ours? No one has succeedded yet just by planning.

Of course I'm prepared for such comments. You are right, you don't have to believe me and my possibilities.

I also forgot to mention: I have just done a speedhack for Lands of Celtica. It doubles base framerate of Heroes, thus making animations on world map smoother, and possibility of faster game ("medium" animation speed in combat is now like original "fastest").

Sounds really good . I also had the idea of adding the Mithril to the bottom, but I don't have the skills..
The Creature looks nice , good luck with your project.
