The Origins of Angels?
Having only played Heroes V I recently bought myself a copy of Heroes III Complete (because many people say it's the best of the series) and Heroes IV Complete, because it was part of a package deal. Since getting them I've really been getting into the old Might and Magic story line, and it's a pity they didn't keep it, because it's very clever and original in a lot of respects.
I read an old interview also regarding Armageddon's Blade and the developer they interviewed was asked about the clash of science fiction and fantasy in Might and Magic. He mentioned the Kreegans of course, but he also said that if he told us the origins of the angels, some of the fans would have a heart attack.
So my question is, simply, what are the origins of the angels? What are they in actuality?

Nobody really knows...
My guess is that they are some sort of ancients' cyborgs or aliens from another planet - like Kreegans.

According to the lore they should be ancients' servants - possibly cyborgs. They are present in MM7 as guards in Myst town. In the Restoration of Erathia campain they are returning from somewhere to help get rid of the Kreegans.
