So lets talk about Terran. Is the reason that there aren't more because the are simply underperfoming in individual leagues...greatly? Or balance? The stats don't help, because there are so few Terrans, 50% qualified...but from 9, lol...4. What about migration to EU/US as a reason? Or is it that they never try (can't?) transition out of bio but simply try to break their opponent untill they eventually run out of steam..? Did stuff like this happen in BW but eventually "normalized"?
Migration to EU/US is a big reason (the likes of TaeJa, Polt, MMA, Jjakji, Bomber, etc...many of them would get to Code S, if not all of them).
I believe another important stat is TvZ. Since the WM nerf (November'13), Terrans have been unable to find the right composition to fight Zerg...and Terrans are new to this issue. If you look at Aligulac periods stats (Column on the right) you'll see that TvZ is usually below 50% (Aligulac Balance Report also shows that trend).

It's not just the TvZ, the TvP is usually also around 40%, the biggest problem being that the best terrans, tend to have their worst matchup in TvP and we all know how many protoss are currently at the top.

I don't get why playing for a stalemate is a loss. Does this mean if terran lifts buildings in a base race he loses too?

I don't get how this will do anything? If you double Locust life time they will just attack you from their base, literally. The turtle strategies would be even stronger because you wouldn't be able to come to them, EVER.
What they need to do is to lower the duration of Locusts but make them even stronger to compensate for that, also lowering the cooldown but not to the point where is exactly the same as duration. That way you have to come close with Swarm Hosts and have a risk of getting them killed, but it will be high risk high reward unit, and what is important it will be aggressive and microable, you will need to master them first to be able to use them up to their full potential.
The unit it is right now, or the unit you would like them to be, are no risk high reward turtle units.

What depress me is that Blizzard seems to ignore this problem. And while it's true that can (and actually is) fixed by maps...it also forces maps to not be Swarm Host friendly, limiting maps potential. A shame

We still need a completely flat map.
Because with double duration you can kill the swarm and rape the swarmhosts trying to run away. If he sits in his base then his base goes too, bad for him.

Assuming that he doesn't have 30+ Spines and Spores?
I believe that they will do something about Swarm Hosts in the expansion, since they are not going to redesign unit before the expansion, they've never done this.
If they let them the way they are now, well... I guess a ton of people will stop playing this game.
But they would need to be pretty freaking stupid to not change the unit itself. I mean, ton of pros are complaining already and giving them advice how to change them, and not just Ts or Ps, but Zs too.
Pretty small number of people like this unit(myself included, but I would like them even more if they change it into very aggressive unit with not-so-good defensive potential).
A lot of Z players hate it and don't play with them at all, and some of them play with them just because there is no better unit against P's late game Deathball or T Mech. And obviously non of the Ps or Ts like the unit.

7/8 games played in Maze in Proleague have been PvP. The mini-metagame this map has with the focus on skytoss is nice, but it's a shame we don't see other races
