There are season finals for each WCS Season (logical hehe) and the Grand Finals wich will be played in Blizzcon the 8-9 of November. For the first ones they qualify the top5-6 of each WCS of each region, while for the Grand Finals in November they qualify the Top15 of WCS Points (Current Standings)

It only requires skill to land the first one. The rest none.
I also don't like current Void Rays, nor in design, nor in statistics (too much dps). In [HotS] Beta they buffed them with +20%, I'd reduce -10% at much...
But this style of swarm host ==> free units ===> covered by static defenses ===> game becomes so slow, long and boring to watch...I don't like it

For some reason all Blizzard games go down this route.
Remember Warcraft 3? It became so stiff with its never-changing strategies that players started a massive exodus. All they needed was a proper balance patch from Blizzard however to shake things up and start new strategies. It never came.
SC2 was made having e-sports in mind, so it might get a better treatment, however.

Please, just don't... don't jump on TL's bandwagon when the units have completely different purpose.
It is like saying that Goliaths are better than Thors, because they are both factory anti-air units.

I like the balance somewhat, but I agree about the Voidrays. Maybe a slight nerf to them, or slight buff to Zerg anti-air. Mainly thinking about Corruptors that are just boring.
I also don't like the Swarmhost turtle style if it goes on through all game. I like it when there is a contain, and then a transition to something else. Again don't know what could be done there though.

On the other hand, BW didn't receive a balance patch in more than ten years yet the metagame kept changing from time to time.
With that said, I also think a balance patch from time to time can help a lot. At least we're seeing that Blizzard learnt their mistakes they made on WoL - nerfing every unit - and now in HotS they are more inclined to buff units instead of just "nerf nerf nerf", and they are more caution about any kind of change (whenever they think on making a change, they release a custon map with the change and ask the community to try it out).

No random for race choice...
We exclusively play that when in team with friends, regardless of the game.
Still, 14 friends, awesome! It's like Age of Empires again! W00T! I know what I'll be doing this week when I'm free.
