Multiplayer problem, please help?
Hey guys,
I have Heroes 4 installed on my laptop.
A friend of mine installed it with the same cd on his computer.
How can we play against eachother while we are both on an different network. (like he's at home and so am I)
Do we need a Gamespy arcade account or is there another posibility like something with direct IP? because I only want to play with him and not against others so that why I rather not wanna use gamespy.
So we tried to use direct IP, I host and he's joining the IP adres that appears when I'm hosting a game. But he simply can't find me...
We tried it otherwise with him as host but no succes either.
(we turned firewall off)
Please help...

You need to give a bit more info
Are you both on a LAN ?
What brand Modem Router do you use and how do you connect to it (wireless , Direct via USB ???
General stuff that may help
1. Ensure you are trying to connect to the hosts Public IP Address and not the hosts local (Lan IP address)
2. Turning off the firewall, You may have a number of firewalls , a firewall located on your Laptop (windows Firewall or similar) and a Modem/Router Firewall both are handled differently. For your Local Firewall add an exception for Heroes or to test just turn it off.
For your Modem /Router fireawll you will need to do some Port forwarding, in other words forward traffic from the Internet to your Laptop on Port 4437 (default i think) what this does is sends any traffic on that port to your laptop
Need more info to really assist.
Regards
