Yeah. It's definitely a big bluish bird as the upgrade. However, the interface doesn't call it a "Halcyon." It still refers to it as an "Ice Elemental." In fact almost all the new upgrades retain the names of the old upgrades. I suppose that should've been my first clue that as much as it first appeared to be a stable install... uh... nope.
I'll try some of those suggestions in this thread.
Edit:
I'm certain it's the installation that's causing the problem.
In your instructions you say, "Extract all files in your Heroes 3 folder, replace where needed..." I have almost no experience with modding. In fact WOG is the only mod I've ever used. What does "replace where needed" refer to? Do I extract all files to the main "Heroes of Might and Magic III Complete" folder or the "Heroes3" folder inside it. Last time I extracted everything to the "Update" folder and it did the update and seemed to run fine until the problems I mentioned.
It sounds like your're saying to put the files in different folders. I see the *.erm and *.pcx files, among others, are in certain folders in my wogged out Heroes complete. I thought the install would handle all of that. So which files do I need to place and which files do I extract to the main directory?
It would help if you included a readme for us less experienced modders.

I suppose that's what went wrong.
The installation rar file:
http://www.4shared.com/file/wPNgfvnm/Hero_of_Light_v21.html
will be extracted in C:/Program Files/3DO/Heroes Complete. That's what I mean the "Heroes folder". If you see this folder you'll find out that it has a DATA folder, a map folder and an Update folder (same as the rar file has) and that's what should be merged and replace when necessary.
Then, you run the H3wUpd exe in Heroes Complete folder and install it.
After that you should also extract this (it's an update so its not very important but...)
http://www.4shared.com/file/SeMBbBaR/Hero_of_Light_script_Update.html
In Heroes Complete folder too, and replace where asked.
Then you should be ready to go. Some don't see the changes because they don't have the right WOG Options for the changes to apply. That's why you should go to WOG options and load the WoGSetupEx.DAT from Heroes Complete folder. If you can't do that, I posted a reply on this thread for the options you need to make it work.
In the end you can try out WOG(Hero of Light) tutorial map and see the changes.
It's like the billionth time I said it but nevermind

Yeah. I got it to work. Problem my zip utility wouldn't show me the rar archive's subfolders unless I displayed it in details view. Then I could see where everything was supposed to go.

I assume Restore_ERM\ is used to restore certain scripts to the original?

I am glad you worked it out.
Why didn't you try Winrar? It's free and easy to use.
Yes restore ERM has the original scripts. But in fact they won't do much good because the mod alters the creature's names and images so... The only way to get rid of it for good is to reinstall Heroes. It's the only way
Anyway, hope you like it. I see you are new on this forum and so If you have any other trouble about it, comments or any thoughts etc, feel free to post again

Yeah. I just happened on this forum while searching for WOG mods.
I probably will try WinRar. I just hadn't run into a problem up till now so I hadn't payed much attention to it.

UPDATE
I thought I'd share some of the progress I've made (just a little peek at things to come)
As you may have notice I changed the Conflux town completely but the town's interface wasn;t changed at all (and didn't match to the changes). So I've changed the town's dwellings:
And of course in the Hall as well:
And in the adventure map:
The town's lineup has been changed a bit (for instance Dragon Golems are now out). But I won't share the new lineup (not until its downloadable anyway). The final touch in the dwelling's name is that now the dwellings that have interchangeable creatures have new names. The new notion is that a new dwelling is ADDED and that's why you get to choose between the two creatures:
Well, that's it for now. I await any comments and/or suggestions on the town screen... Its not downloadable yet (although it is ready and working) but it will be soon as I plan many other major changes as well (and anyways the dwellings have room for improvements)...
Until next time then...

Looks very nice
Only the sharpshooters building is looking slightly deformed and too big for his position. I like the sky.

Thanks
Yeah, as I said it needs some editing... maybe I'll add a little forest on the ground there to fill it up...
As for the sky...what do you mean? I didn't change that. It's just the Grail dwelling... Unless you're referring to Vallhala's Beacon?

You are right, with all the recolored, plagues, borrowed, pesky and strange skies background we see around, I was pleasantly shocked to see a nice one. It happens that it is the original one.
Yes, you need a thin line of forest at the treetop base, so the texture does not overlap with the university. And a bit smaller, he looks like being far away, but big.

I think I did it.
I didn't want to change the dwellings size because I think its good and proportional to the University (that is quite near...). And anyways the Treetop Tower's base is now on a grassy field and I think it looks better...

You should work a little at the Treetoptower's roofs. Their angle are not right.
They should look something like this ,in my opinion.

I don't see why that's better
But anyway their angle is the same as the dwelling's is so... As I said I like it that way and I think the adding of trees in the background did the trick.
Actually, what I thought of having need of changing is the Danger's Cove and Den of Thieves... I think this is better:
But still some improvements might arise... The trouble about the Den of Thieves is its place. The mountain its in is not good and difficult to work with...

I suggested you to work on the rooftops because at the moment ,due to the isometric angle of the original picture , the building placement looks like the picture on the left , in report with the mountain and magic academy .
So if you fix the roofs , the placement will look like the right picture
witch is more natural . You choose.

If you see on the right frame (without the University) you'll see that the Treetop Tower starts on the Ground not the Hill.
It's not a "Treetop" Tower anymore (I'll rename it and be done with it) but I think its OK... Maybe the angle is a little bit off, but not distinguishably so...

The one from Buca's picture looks more natural for me too. It helps to see the right perspective if buildings have similar angles. It is not about where it is placed (hills or plain ground) but only the angle

I'll take your suggestions into consideration. The thing is that the redrawing of the rooftops of all three houses would be tricky... I don't know. Maybe I'll try it and see how it fares.

Ask Buca, seems he is comfortable in changing angles. As he already showed a screen, I guess he can make it. Unite your powers for the roofs sake!
