Every time I try and set the numbers for creature encounters it never works right.
For example I make a map and place wandering creatures. Now I edit them. Now let's say I decide to use crossbowmen. I'll click and drag them to the map, then I double-click them bringing up "army properties", then I'll choose and empty slot and let's say I choose said crossbowmen and choose to create 5. Then I'll go to the next empty line and try the same thing which is fine and I'll save and play test and when I do it will only display 1 unit of say 6 instead of 2 units of 5. Why is this?
I am by no means an advanced map maker but I figured out quite a bit on my own. Can someone please help me with this so that I may continue? Even a link to a map making guide would be awesome! Thank you.

The number of neutrals depends on the difficulty. So if you placed 10 crossbowmen in the editor and chose Novice when you started the game, there would be 6 in-game. But if you chose Champion, their number would be 30.
On the adventure map the crossbowmen will appear as you placed them in the editor, e.g. two stacks of 5. But in combat their formation depends on your army strenght and formation, so the crossbowmen may appear as 1 stack of 6 or 3 stacks of 2 etc.

Ok so basically just keep doing what I'm doing and I'll be fine then since the game adjusts to the difficulty settings. And I thought I was doing something wrong but it does make sense. Thank you so much for your help!
