Check the gamestar.de preview. That's where they said Ghouls were replacing Zombies and Juggernauts were replacing Horned Demons.

I'm sure this "replacement" will go beyond simple name & model change. For example, ghoul's posture suggests a much more agile and aggresive unit than a zombie.
Juggernaut sounds like it could have ability to move enemies around.

I wasn't familiar with this but on Celestialheavens they are saying the Warhammer game that came out not long after H5, developed by Black Hole, had Dark Elves that looked almost the same as the H5 ones. In that case I can see Black Hole using Dark Elves in H6 as well, since it's not only Nival who came up with them...

Well, although Mark of Chaos did come out after H5, H5 took the idea of the dark elves from the Warhammer tabletop game, which has had them for many, MANY, long years. Heck, Nival even took the idea of the dark elves riding dinosaurs and using hydras in battle from Warhammer.

Wow, those are complete rip offs (even if the Hydra is a traditional Dungeon creature), there's also the assassin and another one resembling the Shadow Witch. I'm now not sure if they'd be able to replace 40% of the units and give the faction an image overhaul, so they might want to stray away from the whole thing. It's bad luck for them...

Sylvan Line-up Proposal
I loved Sylvan in H5. Their town and creatures were beautiful, they were fast and literally lucky and the "Imbue arrow" stuff was more interesting than their actual racial ability (Avenger).
But no faction is perfect.
Early game, it was not fun splitting up Sprie stacks and spam Wasp Swarm. Even though they are a very good ranged faction, their first and only tank was tier 6 which did not make sense to me.
I also felt that the War Dancer at tier 2 in H5 was really out of place and I just never really liked it compared to the other creatures. Pixies also felt kinda useless later in the game where they get like one-shooted.
For H6, I am going to go for a more mytholigcal approach to Sylvan opposed to Haven which has mainly creatures of the same race.
To me the classic Sylvan creatures are the Ranger/Hunter, Unicorn and of course the great Green Dragon.
1. Wisp -> Elder Wisp (Flier, Strike and Return, Wisp Symbiosis)
2. Hunter -> Master Hunter (Shooter, Double Shot, Viper's Venom)
3. Wolfheart -> Wolfsoul (Walker, Leap)
4. Nymph -> Dryad (Shooter, Caster, Nymph Symbiosis)
5. Treant-Ancient Treant (Walker, Entangle)
6. Unicorn -> Silver Unicorn (Walker, Blind, Enchanted)
7. Green Dragon -> Emerald Dragon (Flier, Dragon Symbiosis)
The Wisp is a fast low level creature that stolen the old Hit&Run attack. Elder Wisps iconic ability is to Wisp Symbiosis which can be used to cause Nymphs next attack to the stun the enemy target for a turn or two or to cause Treants to be able to move across the entire battlefield the next time they act.
Wisp Symbiosis do not have a reaction with Treants.
Hunters are tier 2 now and their special ability is Viper's Venom which slows the enemy target. They also shoot twice.
Wolfhearts are elves that have become one with the wolf spirit. Basically, they are werewolves. They are fast and their special ability is Leap. Leap enables to jump a great distance across the battlefield and do extra damage. It enables the Wolfheart to jump across castle walls.
Nymphs are forest spirits that channel the force of nature itself. They are spellcasters and have Nymph Symbiosis. Nymph Symbiosis can be used to make Wisps to an area of effect explosion the next time they attack. It can also be used to heal and dispel Treants.
The last Nymph Symbiosis affects Green Dragons. It makes Green Dragons leave a Storm after they attack the next time. Enemies can not shoot or cast through the Storm and enemies going through it will be stopped for a turn.
Treants are one lower tier than in H5. Sylvan now has access to this powerful tank slightly earlier. They still function the same way but through Symbiosis from Nymphs, Dragons and Wisps they can be used to rush to the enemy frontlines, root several enemy creatures at once or be healed and dispelled at the same time.
They retain Entangle which roots an enemy in place.
After a caster and then a tank, it is time for a fast damaging creature again. Unicorns iconic ability is Blind. But this is now a spell so its just random. If you want to blind an enemy, then you click on blind and it blinds the selected enemy creature. It also has Enchanted meaning that beneficial blessings from both your own and the enemies buff spells also affects the Silver Unicorn.
Finally, the most powerful Sylvan creature is the Green Dragon. It is connected through Symbiosis. Nymphs can make them place a Storm and the Green Dragon himself can make Nymphs get full mana back, Wisps immune to damage for a few turns and Treants to be able to move across the entire map and deal more damage.
Symbiosis gives Sylvan an unique mechanic where core creatures from Low, Mid and Late tiers can empower each other.
Other creature suggestions: I had LOTS of ideas for Sylvan and it was really hard. Other suggestions: Saplings. Low level treants that have good synergy with Hunters. Satyrs, walkers that can increase the luck and/or morale when they do not have much else to do. Pegasus or Hippogriff Riders, Sylvan could use a mid flyer. Wyrms, alternative to Green Dragons. They move underground. Shapeshifters, can change form to become tanks, casters or fliers etc. Elven creatures such as War dancers, Blademasters, Wardens, Sentinels and Druid casters.

Oh yeah. I forgot about the witch elves and the assassins as well, and that they aren't alone. Nival also took "inspiration" from the wood elves of warhammer. Do these guys look familiar?
