StrongHold Army Late Idea
Since stronghold town can recruite any type of hero in it's domain, why not stronghold town can select what kind of creatures they want to build without the restriction of their default creature line ups! For example:
The can choose their level one creatures from a variety of level one line ups like:
beserker
halfling
orc
squire
zombie
wolf
However this would affect the moral of troops or stronghold heroes can probably negate moral penalty from it's troops.
Just an idea!

creative but I think the stronghold creatures will be sufficiently stronger than the other town's creatures so that the magic deficiency will be compensated for.

Thanks for your comment. Stronghold must always have the combat skill advantage. They will always have potions with them to use instead of magic. It's like building a perfect army of your choice and off-course if I read correctly from other previews, there are more dwellings withing the stronghold town, there must be some kind of structure that has this benefit.

perhaps something similar to homm3's dungeon town's portal of summoning (though it wouldnt be a portal). Maybe a refugee camp (like in homm3) or an escape tunnel.

The special building is the magic dampener. It gives a 10% magic resistance to your heros. And the good(or bad) part is that you get that 10% for each barbarian town you have.(If you have 4 towns your resistance is 40%)

the other are colliseum and the breading pit. However, I don't like this idea, sorry, it's just that every town should have his own line-up and no mix of other towns...

So does each town have 2 or 3 special structures and the stronghold has more because it needs to compensate for magic loss? Thats okay then.
I hope the creatures in stronghold are stronger than others because otherwise stronghold would be pretty defenceless.

If you want to know about the special buildings go to celestial heavens, they have building lists of all towns. The building that replaces the mageguild is a combat type shrine that improves your hero's combat stats.

stronghold and magic...
I'm afraid that while trying to give stronghold a punch to compesate for the lack of magic, NWC will give too much of a punch, not giving magic heroes any chance against barbarians...
in the end, it will end up like HoMM3... who picks any magic hero over Crag Hack? ...not me... and with the added magic ress, this gets even worse...

I know aren't squires supposed to be just kids helping out the older knights?
They aren't supposed to fight at that stage!

Squires are gentlemen, they are nobleman not a warrior! So it's really a weird thinking 3DO got for a troop!
