A close Real-time HoMM-spinoff
I had a few thoughts and right now I'm thinking of how one could make a Heroes spinnoff-rts-game without just making a clone of games like Warcraft or the Age of XYZ games with heroes-ish setting and style...
so here I go, but this is currently just in the beginning creation. (I never get far with things anyway
THe most important thing in this is what I want to KEEP to make it like homm a bit (many points here are unsure, then marked by "?"):
-Stacking?
-Town with seperate screen? (probably not)
-Heroes move as army leaders, no seperate movement possible? (probably I'll give that a try)
-spell schools (not H5 ones but basically the idea of spell schools!), mage guild and the basics of the magic system (instead of faction-specific spells, as we have them often in such games)
-HoMM-ish Heroe Skill system
-Unit Tiers
-For most factions, the classical Heroes ressources: Gold, Wood, Ore, Gems, Crystal, Mercury, Sulfur.
-the whole building system shall be more like HoMM than like AoE or WC. Probably no "Builder unit" in classical sense.
-upgrades don't automatically apply to your units, but units are upgraded in your town(s)?
-seperate undergroudn level? would be great but could be difficult...
...I probably forgot sth XD
To make it easy or myself, I begin with just 2 factions:
Haven and Necropolis.
Haven are the Angels and the mortal servants of Light (in this way)
Necropolis are the Undeads udner Necromancer's influence
I'd liek to see a horde of different factions in this, but I begin with two. Units may be redistribute if I add more.
Aaah, I still need a name. I'd suggest:
Battles of Might and Magic
So, here I begin.
Units:
Recruiting:
Units are recruited in buildings, either in town or map.
Recruiting units costs gold, sometimes ressources, and takes a bit time. You can recruit groups of units, saving a percentage of time (5 units -> 10% total time less; 10 -> 20%, 25 -> 30%, 50 -> 40%, 100 -> 50%). Units recruited in groups appear all at a time, already stacked.

...more to come, just wanted to allready create the thread...suggestiosn allready welcome, though
