I find the boss-thing quite needless too, HoMM is a TBS and the boss-fights are native to the FPSs/RPGs/arcades. Plus, it will make the Champion creatures of each faction look stupid and weak. Still, let's see what will be the actual implementation before passing final judgment.

Yep, I think we should wait and see
Nothing wrong with the old battle format but new things need to be tried and this could turn into a huge stroke of genius (or fail).
You never know till you try it.

If they handle it anything like King's Bounty, it should be quite enjoyable.
It's unlikely we'll see them in common multiplayer maps though, because boss battles are bound to take long (that's usually the point of a boss) and are much more resource intensive and casualty rich.
Basing those assumptions of KB.

i would say, imho
1. Artwork (no more cartoonish style creatures, woo-hoo!)
2. More and more rpg (this fact can not leave me indiferent)
3. Evolution of the game (HOMM5 showed us that copy paste of HOMM3 with some modifications is not the best and most innovate idea)
