Engine?
Is the engine used for Heroes 6 the same as (or modified from) Heroes 5?
Besides the obvious improvements the core look is abit too similar for my taste, some elements like cursor icons are identical and I can't lose the slight feeling that this looks like a mod of heroes 5, and not a new game. I know they use alot of placeholders, but it still LOOKS like a (very good and very broad!) mod.
I guess I am just surprised how similar the new game looks compared to H5.
Anybody had the same impression, or am I crazy?
PS: I still think H6 rocks!

That's Black Hole's engine though a number of people have expressed the same concern as you.

Yes. Heroes 6 has impresive graphix. Another thing that I find interesting is that you must expand your town influence in order to gain control over the mines. There are some futures that I have read in a Game magazine LEVEL.
About the engine... I saw elements from Heroes 5 but the creatures are different, it may be an improved version of the Heroes 5 engine but not a MOD.
Edit: Correction to my Reply.
It is Black Holes Engine and ints not an improved version of Heroes 5 engine.

As far as I know about games, the engine is merely an arrangement/pool of functions and methods to compose a game. If you find the interface visually similar, its because they made it look similar. The same is valid for general graphics.
