SO Minecraft is a new game, it's still in it's alpha (or pre-beta) phase, I've bought it and I find it a rather good game, very innovative and you can create loads of cool stuff in it, check it out, for those interested, it's a mere 9,95€.

My brother uses all his time on that game... But yeah, i guess that people play it because of the many opportunities, and because of the "I can build whatever i want" idea..
To me it seems like a waste of time, but what the hell, the inventor and creator is rich now..

He earned like 1,6 million€ in one month, according to the local newspaper, that's the largest amount earned in such a shor ttime ever in the game industriy for a small company.

Comparing the free version to the alpha version (the one who costs) is almost like comparing pacman without ghosts to the original pacman, there's no fun in it.
Watch some videos of wat you can do on youtube instead.

Yeah that wasn't overly impressive... though I did build myself an awesome tower.
Gonna watch a few vids.
I don't buy stuff in digital form though... I like to hold things in my hands instead of buying an unlock code or something.

My brother and one of his friends are trying to build a huuuuge castle, so last weekend they where building in 17 hours, and got som sleep in 6 hours and continoued another 12 hours.. And on the total of 29 hours, they only made 2 walls and removed all the mountains so they had flat ground to design it on..(I don't understand why they waste so much time on it?) It's damn boring....
And now they talk over skype and build the damn thing..
Tell me why?

Yeah, it's impressive to earn that much and still be in alpha..
But seriously, if people want to build in First Person Angle, go for Garry's Mod 10... Much much more is possible there.

Meh! Garys mood is too good n advanced. The fun past of minecraft is that it's simple and you can credit yourself for every little thing that you've made. Whether it's a stick, a flat area or a huge castle! Even placing dirt means that you've obtained it!
And it's stop God damned ugly that you can take credit for everything that looks good and don't have to be ashamed if something doesn't!

Listen to City guys... watch a few vids and you'll see why this game is completely awesome.
The free version really is nothing in comparison.
Simplicity is one of its strengths, Garry's mod is kinda complicated in comparison.

Yeah, but you have to create most advanced pieces and mine the base blocks!
You can just stick your hand into that box of legos and make a swordsman. First you must find the ore, make the metal and then make the sword.
So unless you cheat, in my eyes, and look stuff up on the internet it will take time to make a stick. The great part is when you tell your friend you've made a stick and he is impressed( requires that your friend started the same time as you, and didn't 'cheat').

actually the free version is awesome but the water is unfair...
I had a freaking underground kingdom, it was magnificent.(it was actually a castle but whaev)
and then a ****ing renegade water droplet flooded everything... it's going to take me hours to clean the thing up...

You know, you can jsut either fill in the hole where the water entered, or if you placed it yourself, delete the soruce block. Water works like that, soruce block gone=al lwater gone.
Also, To those of you who's only tried the free version, and wonders why it's worth 10 euros, check out a few videos by this guy to see how the basics work, and why it's so awesome. I'm still doing the simple basics, yet to create anything cool, and I already think it's worth the money. It's having constant updates, and you can even visit hell.
there are lots of stuff, you can go fishing, create treehouses, and plant stuff. Soon you'll be able to create your own farm.
You can make some really complex stuff in this game, definatly a worth getting.

i was working with the free (classic) version though. hence why it flooded the entire underground cavern.
i'm still goofing off building some oddities.

If you like the classic version, you'll love the Alpha, but if you want it for the 10€, you'll buy it like now, cause it's soon entering the BETA phase, and then it'll double in price.

amg it's hard. my map has so many caves it isn't funny. it's broad daylight and i'm being swarmed by zombies.
edit: started a new map, i need to find a better first night survival area... i keep too close to the surface. the creeps stay on top of my area so then when i peek my head out in the morning.
