For me they were female I really can't tell why
Still being female and being a ghost does not mean having perfectly shaped face and hair standing up (as if you werea super-sayian thing or sth like that...).
They could make female ghosts look like the girl from 'the Ring' or some ghosts form 'the Grudge'...
Of course it can fly, be pale and wear a long dress - but why such a fancy one (compare banshees dress)?
Why not focus on mythology or common sense but other games?

EDIT:
Still, what do you think about making Haven pure deffensive faction?
Dwarves were to be full-protective. Haven/Castle always had mid-damage and mid defense not low damage high defense...

Dude, chill out...
I said I liked it more, but the best ghosts I've ever seen were not-upgraded ghosts in HV. Why can't you read the text with full-unerstanding but you focus on the things that bothers you, rip them out of the context and then try to form a saracastic response?

Oh i don´t know, maybe because forums like this generally is overrun by nostalgic hardcore fanboys who see change like a cancer upon their personal relationship with a 10-year old game from a now non existing company?

Hehe, don´t take it personal i´m just on a rant

Well I think I can answer that, you see I'm not a big fan of the Necropolis, but when it comes to style and elegance they are the best. At least if you look at them from a Dark Messiah perspective which I am.

Allow me to elaborate, for some reason the necromancers are supposed to live simple lives much like the Buddhists. They have a thing for symmetry as well as simple style. In a way they like to keep things clean, after all the only necromancer "civilians" you see in DM are cleaning rooms before they gets killed.
For example, I don't think you would ever see Arantir having dirty hair or clothes, as it is the style of the necromancers to keep it clean and nice.

And for the same reason I think we can safely assume that the ghost as well like to keep themselves clean and good looking.

just my 2 cents of course

@Lesij
Well considering the lore and art as well as some arguments already expressed here I think it's safe to say that we are moving away from wow. It was only cited as an example for skills because the majority of people are familiar with it but apparently it's catched on with some people and given the wrong impression. Then there's the matter of (many)blizzard  fans only judging things according to blizzard standards instead of a spherical point of view I also know from inside that wow is not the plan.

Kehem...
The guy above me (Azagal) does not know me nor do I know him. Hence I don't know what he is trying to tell you
@Azagal: We are discussing here - if you don't like it, just don't take part in it and don't offtop/discourage anybody if you don't find yourself strong enough to take part in this discussion :]
The thing somebody has their own beliefs doesn't make the discussion pointless, as long as some ubi-workers probably sometimes look this forum through and they can at least stop and think a while.
I'd like to say it rougher (as an oldfag to an obvious troll should), but I won't since this forum is full of polite people, even if they are obvious trolls.
Thank you :]

And about what a true interlocutor (not abusing troll) said - I get your point (at last some logic thinking here), but for me it just looks like banshee from warcraft. If they only changed those hair or make dress less 'puffy'...
Try to make the banshee's silouette and ghost's from HVI silloute only one color (just colour it in paint, or photoshop) and look at it...

EDIT:
@Elvin: I am not talking about the skills, conceps and overall lore but about the desing... Sadly, at least if it comes to Vampires, it is not only my impression. I have found on about three forums at least one guy shouting out loud that he is not fond of Vampire's look, because the creature looks almost like Menethil...
What is more - I am not a wow fun at any means. I am rather originality-fan and for me Necropolis is done wrong :/
Still, thank you very much for contributing

Reffering to other factions I have nothing to say, because they are perfect I would only chane Vestal's name (absurd) and not make Haven pure-defensive (but that is only because I was looking forward to playing them and I like balanced - might concerned strategy the most )

Well I agree with you at some level, I really hope that the ghost will turn out to be very transparent(since it is a ghost, not a dark version of the Glory)
And yeah one color only would be better.
For example if they take this and just remove the chains/armors, it would be much much better

Aren't they even a lil bit similar?
I'd agree with you, but I wouldn't remove the chains. Ghosts in legends usually wore them. These were the chains that were dissallowing them to go to the other world. And those chains are enslaving necromancer's chains. I think they suit well to the desing, plus they mke some difference compared to those poor banshees

OMG that cleavage!

Anyways yeah kinda similar, but with one major difference.
The WoW banshee is like a *self censored*.(dunno how I can express this without sounding prejudiced)
While the H6 ghost is an elegant Queen.
(hmm when I think of it she might even surpass the "Sister" and the breeder in beauty)

Borrowing from WoW isn´t necessarily a bad thing. Tapping in to the enormous horde of players that identify with that esthetic could bring more players and more cash leading to more heroes for everyone. It´s not done to obvious in my opinion either, sure the ghoul and the vampire might share some traits but overall the game seems to boast a fairly innovative vision. And we havn´t even seen the last two factions yet.

However -
cover the cleavege + add some chains and a wicked crown = almost the same
These are two differences only. If somebody wanted to copy for example Nike's logo they would add another hook somewhere or a little bit change the base (for exampl make it wavy) but everybody would see - 'Hey! I know this factory! they make good clothes!' thanks to similarities...

Now fantasy games fans see ghosts and there, in their heads a flashbulb appears: 'Hey! This creature is strangely familiar! I like it!'. I told you that this was a cheap psychological trick. Somebody who wouldn't compare this to banshee, still would have banshee's silloute deep in their mind. And we like things that are familiar because they do not give birth to recognition conflict (I don't have a dictionary for psychologist, sorry. In Polish it is: 'konflikt poznawczy'). It is usually a sub-consciouss process which helped us in our batural envioriment solve lots of problems without spending too much energy on thinking. Lots of game-makers or designers use it for their products to sell, BUT if you use mythology or common beliefs you can still be original. If you use somebody else's concepts, then sadly you are not :/
Thanks to it some people can see that target of this game are warcraft/wow fans...

@Properkheldar
True! In much simplier words you said what I've written in kind of scientific language
They use the designs and change them a bit (but for example the shape remains close to the original) to use sub-consciousness of other games fans.
There is even a funnier thing about it Some people sub-conscioussly will use that technique while creating new things and they won't even know about it unless somebody points it to them There are even situations when a person repeats the whole idea of the text they had read but forgot that they did and they still think their 'piece of work' is original

Okey I can agree that the developers tries to target the warcraft/wow fans, and it is quite obvious why...
However I don't think the WoW-banshee and the H6-Ghost it that similar meaning that the ghost should be changed. Its graphic is far more superior to the WoW-banshee, and that makes all the difference

If they want to steal something cool they should take the Warcraft II trolls

Why don't you get back on the track of the topic? It's called "Overall opinion for Heroes 6 development", not "Let's show how stupid we are".

Here's my "overall opinion" on the game so far:

It has incredible graphics, some pretty nice touches from the past (like the promised 2D town view), nice artwork, etc... But unfortunately it also has some stupid flaws that are here because of what I call "The inexperienced developer syndrome". See, that syndrome is simple. These developers want to make a name for themselves by packing the game with unnecesary, experimental stuff just for the sake of it. They want to shove it down our throats regardless of the fact if we like it or not. For example, what is the point of removing features that have been in the game for ALL of its 5 previous installments. Yes, I'm talking about the removal of sulfur, gems and mercury. And don't try to sell me that "balance" b-u-l-l-s-h-i-t! We all know that they were too lazy and busy inventing "awesomenewstuff" to create the models of 3 extra mines and resource pile models and they left it at this... Another thing that bothers me very very much is the issue with the spells and the magic system in general. I am not gonna say anything before I see it in motion, but I have that sense that it's gonna turn out to be a major flop. Like gems, MAGIC GUILDS have been a mainstay of the series for all of its 5 parts so far. Why did they decide to screw it up? Choosing from a set of pre-determined spells when you level-up is utterly boring. There was nothing like constructing the 5th level of the Magic guild and anxiuously opening it to see if you got the spell you were dreaming of... Now, it's probably gonna be a bunch of Diablo II-like crap. Again, we'll wait and see.
In the end, we go to the part that I am most sensitive about - the creatures. That's the worst part of H6 for now. They said that "they wanted to create their own creature universe", which is totally lame. They strayed away from mythology and packed the game with crap like LACERATORS, BLAZING GLORIES, MANIACS etc... What the hell is this? Creatures like the Bone dragon have been here since H2. Now, they're gone just to be replaced with some kind of a dead female spider bearing the most awful and poser name of all time - the "fate spinner". My last hope is that this time they will FINALLY put a huge number of neutrals in the game and will return some of the scrapped old-time favourites amongst them. The problems with the creatures continue when you look to their disgusting, stupid namings - we have sisters, brothers, grandpas, fathers and so on, and so on.
Another drawback of the game is that because they were too lazy to write another campaign or two, this will be the game with the smallest number of factions since H1 - only five! Yes, unfortunately it's right - only five freaking race, one of which will be the mandatory failed experiment! That means that three of the classics Dungeon, Academy, Stronghold and Sylvan will be gone forever! That sucks big time! Ubisoft, in their maniacal lust for cash, have done nothing but ruin the series and destroy its credibility since buying the rights to it. Shame on them!!!
I'd prefer to receive something that I will enjoy for my money rather than the half-done experiment of a bunch of drunken Hungarian devs who work under the pressure of a bunch of money-hungry bosses that don't give a nickel about legacy and probably have never played a Heroes game...

Let's get back to the positive aspect of it. After all, this is a HEROES game, which means that, as a zealous fan of the franchise, I will play it no matter what. As with every previous Heroes game, there is that "surprise" feeling when you launch the new game in the series and want to know what's new and want to explore every corner of the map just to see what the game is all about, what artifacts, spells and monsters there are. This time, I think that this feeling will be better that anytime before!

And russian Troll is russian...

@Radox:
Dungeon with dark elves was also ubi's concept. So if they get rid of it it won't hurt very much (at least me), but Sylvan or Academy WILL be hurtfull :<
Also I think that magic levelling thing will reffer only to faction's school, not to elemental one, as long as elemental schools will be obtaiable for everyone.
