Just look at this artwork!
Look at the details, you can see the veins of the Tormentor for snow sake!
I mean this game is so pretty, I can't understand people who think Heroes 5 and it's abhorrent graphics is better...

H5 graphics weren't bad at all, and H6 aren't the best either. Anyway, both games' graphics are good enough for me.

There is a HUGE difference between "good enough" and "awesome".
The graphic in the Sims is "good enough" while the graphic in Crysis is "awesome".
H6 is not by any means perfect graphic-wise but it uses a more simple and yet realistic style compared to Heroes 5.
I was of course exaggerating while talking about Heroes 5, but I still think that the graphic in that game was overdone and ridiculous.

More evident is to compare graphics of Heroes 6 with Starcraft 2, Starcraft 2 not use latest technologies as DX11, still have stunning looking units and all this in real time ... Heroes 6 is not real time game, so can have even better graphics on adventure map. Looks like developer put all his effort to make nice landscapes and forget totally about creatures, resources on adventure map. As result landscapes look nice, creatures outdated. Take a look at this picture click here to see picture or this and compare this with picture from first post in this topic.

It's a bit unfair to compare a FPS to one of the most customizable games existent.
The same with a strategy game with "maps" and creatures and buildings you can place anywhere and a game that "never changes".

That wasn't really my point, of course a game like the Sims won't be as advance visually as a FPS.
What I wanted to say was, H5 was "good enough" where as H6 is maybe not awesome but without a doubt "fantastic".
And Starcraft 2 is one of the best games ever made, but graphically it's a "tiny" bit overrated. Sure it is good looking and especially considering that it demands so little computer power. But if I compare it to H6. I'd say that H6 looks better, but maybe that's just me...

The problem with the Cyclops is not the graphics, it's the artwork. The Cyclops looks like it's morbidly obese. It needs to go on a diet program or it won't be in the next game since it'll be blind due to diabetes.
Heroes games have never been really system intensive. They've always been designed to run on modest systems.
Also, Starcraft 2's graphics are not that good, especially compared to Dawn of War 2, which came out a year before SC2.

Oh dear Gods! Calory-fear has struck HC. Hide your pork rinds. Put your cupcakes under lock and key. Think of pathetic excuses of why beer and normal cola are actually healthy.
The diet terrorist are on the offensive. Everyone to their battle stations!
So you don't like fat cyclopses. That's fine, your opinion is no less worth than anyone else's. Cyclopses get thinner in the future, as seen in TotE. I actually kinda like 'em fat. Makes them look more monstrous and failed experiment.

Haha why haven't noticed before How hilarious War-overlord is? 
And he has some awesome points, they are failed experiments so their appearance is fitting.
By natural selection the fat ones have been extincted by the time of Heroes 5, where they are healthy and physically fit.

I agree competely with War-overlord, this appearance of the cyclops make them look really menacing and massive. Like an avalanche of pain descending on its foes. Very appropriate for the Stronghold.
While on the point of creature aesthetics, I hope that the dragons' models will be earthbound when idle (globally in the Adventure world and combat) becasue I found it strange IMO that a dragon never landed (except the useless bone dragon) other than to attack. Hovering infinitely like they do just look distracting.

It's because I don't hang around the Altar as much as I used to. Ever since the announcement of HoMMVI there's been a flood of new people. There nothing wrong with that as such, but I tire quickly of the opinion-spamming and flaming that is an indirect result of that. I've explained this a while before in the discussion thread.
But considering the graphics of the game. It looks good as far as I'm concerned. I'm not such a sucker for High Deff as some shooter/racer-players.(Not pointing to anyone, just gamers in general)
In fact I would not mind if HoMM took a turn at the corner of Grit and Realism and went to a more independant and arty side of videogame-town.

Is it really that scary to be facing a morbidly obese monster who looks like he's about to have a heart attack? An avalanche of pain? I suppose that's true if you mean arthritis and lower back pain.
I suppose natural selection making them thinner makes sense since obesity causes erectile dysfunction, which probably means that the Cyclopses in Heroes 6 are a bunch of huge morbidly obese virgins who live in their parent's basement collecting Star Wars action figures.

Zenofex: I disagree. He has more muscle than fat, and seems to fit the role very well. A huge destructive killing machine, all muscle, with the mouth open in a fearsome roar and the club coming down on whatever poor guy is the cyclops target. I like him, a lot.

Don't like Maniac inferno unit, i say H5 imps looks better and are more suitable for fantasy world. Name of unit sound bad too - maniac, why not pedophile ? or maybe let's name upgrade - maniac-pedophile
