List of H6 spells
I've been analyzing the footage of H6 we've got, in search for spells and the schools where they belong plus some spell descriptions.
As we all know, there are seven spell schools in Heroes 6 which are all based on the Ashanian elements - Air, Water, Fire, Earth, Light, Dark and Primordial. There is also a neutral elemental assoicated with all of these. The primordial one is most likely the lunar Phoenix.
Confirmed: In H6 there are three tiers of spells.
Tier 1: These spells can be learned from level 1.
Tier 2: These spells can be learned from level 10.
Tier 3: These spells can be learned from level 20.*
*Level cap in MM:H6 is 30.
Please remember that the mana costs etc of these spells may very well be different depending on what perks the Hero has choosen.
I also do not know for sure if X spell is really a basic spell or Y spell is really an advanced spell etc, but I think I can make good conclusions of that when comparing the mana costs.
For instance, one spell costs 90 Mana so I think its rather safe to asume that it is an Expert spell.
In the screenshot of Slava's spellbook, you can clearly see an Earth elemental spell at Expert level so I will include Summon Elemental spells even though they aren't a 100% confirmed, yet.
Air
Tier One
Tier Two
Tier Three
Summon Air Elemental: Summons an Air elemental stack.
Water
Tier One
Purge: 25 mana. Presumed effect: Removes a buff from an enemy (and MAYBE a debuff on one of your own creatures).
Tier Two
Tier Three
Summon Water Elemental: Summons a Water elemental stack.
Fire
Tier One
Tier Two
Tier Three
Summon Fire Elemental: Summons a Fire elemental stack.
Earth
Tier One
Stoneskin/Endurance: A defensive spell like these can be seen in Slava's spellbook with Earth spells.
Tier Two
Earthquake: A spell with an icon of a crumbling tower can clearly be seen in Slava's spellbook of Earth spells.
Tier Three
Summon Earth Elemental: Summons an Earth elemental stack.
Light
Tier One
Tier Two
Tier Three
Summon Light Elemental: Summons a Light elemental stack.
Darkness
Tier One
Despair: 15 Mana. Presumed effect: Reduces the Morale of an enemy.
Tier Two
Tier Three
Curse of the Netherworld: 90 Mana. 2/3 turns. All living creatures on the battlefield are damaged. Parts of this damage is evenly added to the health of all undead prescense.
Summon Dark Elemental: Summons a Dark elemental stack.
Primordial
Also known as Prime spells in some sources.
Related to time and aging etc.
Tier One
Slow: 15 Mana. Target stacks' iniative is decreased by 2 for 3 turns.
Tier Two
Tier Three
Summon Phoenix: Summons a Phoenix. Speculated spell based on logical conclusions.
Confirmed but "Unknown" Spells
Quicksand: 25 Mana. 1/1 charge. Presumed effect: Reduces the Speed of an enemy or places Sand traps a lá H3. The charge may just been that the hero casting it as a "Wand of Quicksand"-like item and that it has only one cast left. Is not seen as an Earth spell in Slava's spellbook with Earth spells. Could be a Primordial spell, as those are related to the (sands of) time.
Decay: 15 Mana. Presumed effect: Inflicts damage over time to an enemy creature. Likely belongs to Darkness.
Weakness: 15 Mana. Presumed effect: Reduces the damage dealt by an enemy creature. Likely belongs to Darkness.
Fireball: Belongs to the Fire school but we do not know what level it is. Presumed effect: Deals AE Fire damage.
Healing: Confirmed to be a Light spell which... guess what, most likely it heals.
Might Abilities
In H6, Might heroes will no longer be forced to show their mighiness by auto-attacking. Instead, they get some own abilities. These also have three tiers and there are five different categories: Paragon, Realm, Tactics, War Cries, Warfare.
War Cries
Tier One
Stand Your Ground: Presumed to be a Defensive ability.
Tier Two
Tier Three
Unknown Abilities
Heroism: Target stack's Luck and Morale increased by 8 and Might Damage are increased by 10%.
Presumed to be a Paragon spell as the spell effect looks like the Paragon symbol.
Flawless Assault: Target stack's attacks will inflict maximun damage. Elvin wrote that this is a War cry and its probably Tier One, but we do not know that for a 100% yet.
I will of course update this thread when we know more.

Thanks.
I will update this everytime we get new info but atm the main sources are except for official announchments ofc, the Igromir video and that screenshot of Slava's spellbook.
I should also add that I am not a 100% sure of all the spells, so I will adapt to other people's speculations and thoughts in this thread.
Like I am not sure at all if Weakness and Decay are Earth spells now. They are defintely not Dark though. The only reason I've put them in Earth, is because they had a Green border around them.
But now that I look in Slava's spellbook, they are nowhere to be found and I suspect that they are Primordial spells (which also has or had a greenish border with some blue on it).
Spells like Purge etc are obvious water spells though as in the video, it has a clear blue border and the spell effect looks like a splash of water.
Water is also associated with purity.
2011 02 22 13:22: Added Summon Elemental spells for each school except Primordial, which got Summon Phoenix. This is just logical speculation and nothing official, though we do see the shape of the Earth elemental in Slava's spellbook on Expert level.

Slava's spellbook is in the artwork thread.
But here is another...
edit: 2011/02/23 - Big update. Updated to the new info released this day. Changed Basic, Advanced and Expert to Tier One, Two and Three. Moved a bunch of spells to Unknown and added two new spells there. Added a new spell to Tier Two Earth.
Added Might Abilities sections and one of the five categories with one spell plus one complete, unknown spell.

Nicely done Xerox!
A little confusing is the Magic skill tree of Slava.
A tick means you have the spell ability.
A minus means you can get this spell ability?
A cross means you cannot get this spell ability yet?
Wonder why under tier 2 there are some minus as Slava is on ly level 6 but can only reach tier 2 if at level 10.
Or maybe the cross means can't get spell at all and minus means can get spell but only on level up. But this can't make sense either as all tier 1 spells are either tick or minus.....

Yeah, I wondered about that as well. It's like either there's one one sign missing, or otherwise it doesn't make sense with the information we've been given. I couldn't come up with a logical explanation either.

Keep in mind that they used that prologue map as a demo in the alpha, so all spells might not be in yet and that's why they are "locked".
Either way, I am sure that in the final game - we will be able to access all spells. Or atleast I hope so. XD
I've also added Flawless Assault now, which is a War cry ability.
I have to stay, that I really like how they made Might heroes more interesting. Having Might equalents to spells is something that I have suggested myself in the past, and I am getting sooooooooooo excited for this game. Its really depressing to see how many people are complaining on some minor things on this forum when the game already looks ten times better than H5 and I have a feeling that it might beat H3!

Actually Flawless Assault and Heroism are not on the war cries skill tree of Slava....
They do, however, have a "fist" sign beneath their sign on the spellbook.
"Stand your ground" has same symbol and it's on the warcry skill tree....

One of the developers said in the latest Q&A session that there will be OVER 200 spells in the game!!! I think that this sucks hard, probably no one will even be able to remember all of them. 200 spells is a bit of an overkill!!! H5 had the best number of spells - only 48, but all of them equally useful. 200 spells is crap...

it's not really a problem if you can choose them. it's not like you get a chance out of 10 to get the one you want.

Erm... what? What do you mean "remember them", do you really expect that they will be equally accessible to every faction? And this is maybe the first QUANTITY thing we read about, so far it's be only QUALITY this, QUALITY that blah-blah excuses why they reduced the number of factions, creatures, resources, etc. I'm actually glad that they'll be so many - provided that they aren't actually 20 spells and 180 clones.

They certainly meant skills, or someone want to define a passive spell?
One can question if these 200+ are among the 7 magic schools or all skills (might + magic). And judging by the screens we got, I think its among all skill trees.

A mistranslation is quite possible, yes, but there could be passive spells - I'm thinking about Age of Wonders where you can cast something once and then maintain it as much as you can - and it essentially works as a passive skill on the affected creature/hero - provided that there is enough mana for upkeep.

If these "200" are not only the spells, but also the skill, the abilities and the ultimates, then I'm completely OK with it. But if there are 200 pure spells, it'll be awful!

The 200 spells mentioned are active and passive so could include the warcries...besides each faction will have spells unique to their faction ie, not all factions will have access to some magic schools
