a MUST faction for Expansion!
let's say you have an ability to "save" one faction for an expansion..
so your vote will Guarantee that the Faction WILL BE IN EXPANSION
which faction will it be...?

That's more like it. I'd say academy, the game lacks a fully magic faction. Dungeon comes second.
Btw it makes little sense to say H2/3/4 style, they won't be coming back. Concept for factions has been established and ubi is not going to change it so there will be no snowy academy if we wanted to.

I voted H3-style Dungeon because I don't want heavily Warhammer-influenced factions in my HoMM games.

I voted for dwarfs Fortress. Ubihole certainly won't make the same mistake as Nival, so it's the closest thing to both a new faction and an old one

Can't answer myself since it's not a multi-choice. If it was I'd have chosen Dark Elf Dungeon, Elf Sylvan, Arabian Academy, oh and just maybe Dwarf Fortress.

I'll go firstly for (heroes 5 style) Academy. Tower/Order/Academy has been my favorite faction throughout the series. I really like the feel to it, and storywise the wizards and their experiments provide a "logical" explanation to many other things, plus that they create artifacts and are powerful spellcasters... So I like em.
Secondly: Sylvan. Gimmie ELVES!

Like Elvin said, I will probably never see a return of the old H3 Dungeon.
So instead I put my hope on the one with the highest likelyhood of turning into a awesome faction.
FACELESS with all kind of strange and epic units. The Deep underground ftw!

Academy - it should have been in the vanilla and it's a must for the first expansion. All kinds of elves and dwarves and their respective holes can be completely wiped out from the game as far as I'm concerned.

I'd love Dungeon and Academy back, though like others I sorely want the Dark Elves gone.
Since there's next to no chance that that will happen, two Dark Elves at maximum in the creature lineup would be my preference.

Sylvan(elves)... two elven units are just ok. The hunter and the druid... The other five can be any forest creature, like treants, eagles, wolfs, unicorns and dryads.

With so many units already used in the past games and the subsequent effort to include at least a few new creatures per town, I guess it is -sort of- difficult for them to come up with fitting creatures that would not distort the lore/envisioned lineups. Hence, Academy and Sylvan are moderately difficult to overhaul. Only the Dungeon seems like a legit idea for a remake due for H6.

It's hard to pick only one of them. Mainly because Dungeon needs the opposing faction Academy. I would propably go with HoMM 3 Style Fortress or Sylvan/Nature.
