Poll Question: Devel -rebalance mod
Hi Volks, I started to mod by myself.
The first 1 is about my facourite unit in HV-the archdevil.
I try to rebalance them, because many ppl say, theyre to expensive, or just to weak.
So I want to fix them.
My first changes was :
Devil: same as before
Archdevil: 199HP to 200HP,
7 to 9 Speed,
36 Dmg-66 Dmg to 40 Dmg to 70 Dmg
Cost: from 3666 to 3500
Archdemon: 211 HP to 220 HP
36 Dmg-66 Dmg to 40 Dmg to 70 Dmg
Cost: from 3666 to 3500
Do you think its okay or are they to strong now?
Im not sure,
would be glad to get some ideas to balance them.
What does Devils/Archdevils/ Archdemons need?

they don't really need more damage. I always found weird that their speed is so low, whereas they can teleport

Keep as many stats/abilities the same as the original. Too often people try to reinvent the wheel leading everyone else thinking "what the hell is this now?"
Also err on the side of caution so you don't overpower them compared to other units.
That aside, I liked the concept of H3 Devils/Arch Devils better. They were fast so having a devil teleport behind you seemed more in character & scary because of that speed. In H5 they cannot teleport as far... because they got too fat? Also the H3 Arch Devil (only in H3-WoG?) could make the defender go beserk which gave the feel that the unit was now "possessed by the devil". In H5 the witch has H5Frenzy(aka H3Beserk) on her whip instead so to copy her ability would unfortunately make them both less unique.
In short, just raise one stat & have that be speed.

increased archdevils speed to 9 and archdemons to 8
is that to much?
just compared archdevils witz archangels , which got a speed +2 on the upgrade ( 6 to 8)

Archdevils aren't good? News to me.
There are way too many 1st-strike-capable units in this game already. Inferno already has the Nightmares and Hounds giving you first strike. Now devils too?
I did improve the Archdemon by giving his Teleport Other ability +2 more range. That way, he can teleport out enemy archer 1st turn provided that:
1. You have Tactics or army speed bonus.
2. Your Archdemon is on the same corner as enemy archer.
