Might and Magic: Heroes VI
Twilight of the Faceless
The Wood elves were created by the Elemental dragon of the Earth, Sylvanna. But not all elves followed her teachings. Some elves started to embrace the shadows. Those elves are called the Dark elves and worship Malassa, Elemental dragon goddess of Darkness.
Recently, the Dark elven queen Tuidhana made a pact with Demons. She allowed Demons into her realm, Maldea. There the Demons started the construction of something known as a Hellgate, which would keep the Demons attached to Ashan's surface even after the end of the Blood moon eclipse.
The Dragon knights were quick to react and sent the apprentice Tieru to investigate, while the elder Naga dragon knight Zsraku went on a quest to destroy the Dragon relics needed to create and fuel the Hellgate. Zsrakus companion was the druidess Abria.
But Tuidhana soon lost control over her own realm. She could not control the Demons that flowed into her realm, and they soon overpowered her. The elven High King Vaniel marched towards Maldea in the west while Zsraku and the Dragon knights succeeded in finding the Dragon relics. Now, only one relic remained. Arkath's Breath. Racing with Demons for the relic, Zsraku finally reached it and claimed it. But Abria soon revealed her true identity as the succubus and famous shapeshifter Biara. Biara took all the relics and returned to complete the Hellgate. The Hellgate was soon finished and its powers were focused on Irollan's Mother Tree Brythigga. Brythigga was the heart of the forest, it kept it alive. Using vengeful dark elves and a fake-Tuidhana as cover, the Demons succeeded in attacking the elven capital city of Shataqa and reached the Mother Tree's sacred grove. Under the earth, the Demons set fire to Brythiggas roots, incinerating her. And with her demise, the whole forest withered and died. Irollan turned into a wasteland.
Following the death of Irollan, the Dark elves were hunted down and forced to flee into the hidden underground caverns that had been the promised sanctuary from their true masters, the mysterious Faceless. After a year of searching within the darkness of the underworld, the Dark elves found the Faceless. They joined them and now they are preparing for yet another war. The war between the Light and the Darkness. Angels against Faceless.
The fanatical human servants of the Archangel Michael have reignited an ancient war against the Faceless and it is now reaching its climax.
And above the underground world known as Ygg-Chall, the Wood elves have gathered their survivors and started a crusade of vengeance. They will avenge Irollan and Brythigga, and hunt the Dark elves down to the darkest abyss.
Only with their new allies will the Dark elves be able to survive. And with Tuidhana having being killed by vengeful Wood elves, a new leader for the Dark elves must arise. The Warlock Raelag of the growing Soulscar clan aims to succeed Tuidhana, who failed her people, and become the new clanlord.
If the Dark elves stand divided, their people shattered, they will die.

Elemental Chains - Dungeon Racial
The Elemental Chains ability has been completly redone for H6.
Though the Faceless were created by Malassa, they have learned to master all elements. The Faceless can see the elements that all organisms are composed of. They use to the elements to strenghten themselves and break down their enemies.
When in combat, Dungeon Heroes can see elements on all of the of the Hero's own creatures on the battlefield.
The hero's creatures will have one of four elements to start with: Air, Fire, Earth or Water.
Depending on what element they have, they get special powers.
Air = Deals additional Magical damage.
Fire = Deals additional Might damage.
Earth = Reduces Might damage taken.
Water = Reduces Magical damage taken.
When these bonuses come into effect, they will start to fill up a Power bar.
When this power bar is reached, it can be activated on a single creature to unfold into the element of Twilight.
The ultimate Twilight element overrides the old Air, Fire, Earth of Water element but has a unique effect depending on what of those elements the affected creature previously had.
Air = If the creature previously had the Air element, the creature will passively do a full 360' degrees area of effect attack during the current and next turn.
Fire = If the creature previously had the Fire element, the creature will ignore all kinds of Defense as if their values were 0 for the current and next turn.
Earth = If the creature previously had the Earth element, the creature will gain a 100% incorporeality that works for all non-magical attacks for the current and next turn.
Water = If the creature previously had the Water element, the creature will gain a 100% immunity to all kinds of hostile magic for the current and next turn.
After the Twilight phase has ended, the creature will get a random element.
The game will automatically try to make a diversity of different elements for your creatures and it is possible to swap elements in three ways:
1. All Dungeon heroes have an racial ability to swap Elements on their turn.
2. Dungeon creatures can swap elements with each other without the help of a hero. Just click on another Dungeon creature and it will spend its turn to swap Elements.
3. One of the four special buildings allow you to predeterminate Elements for your starting creatures. So you can choose for your Blood Witch to always start with the Air element et cetera.
Elemental Chains is a very tactical racial skill and to make out the most of the Dungeon troops, the player must use the Elements in the best way possible.
For instance, an Air creature would likely want to attack a creature with low Magic defense. Perhaps you empower an existing Magic attack creature, or use it on a Might attack creature who is going to attack a high Might defense but low Magic defense enemy.
And then when the Power bar is full and the element of Twilight is reached, you might want to use it on a Fire creature to destroy a single enemy creature or on an Earth creature to save it from a devastating enemy Might attack.
Dungeon Strategy
"Curse them, enrage them, turn them, consume them and then, destroy them with all of your great power combined."
Overlords and Acolytes of the Dungeons must be careful when choosing to what to attack. Using the right Element can be crucial to the survvial of your own creatures, and annhiliation of your enemies.
But before you make the final push with your strong melee offense, you should weaken your enemies with anti-support and crowd control abilities. Turn your enemies insane with mindbreaking whispers, turn them into stone and crush them and weaken them with powerful venoms. Your troops may be few and expensive, but with mastery over the elements and the lethal combination of magic devastation and melee onslaught - victory will be yours.
Strenghts: Strong stats overall, Strong magical offense, Good balance between might, magic, support and anti-support.
Weaknesses: Slow, Expensive, Few and lacks true flyers.
General Stats: High Offense, Defense, Moderate Iniative and Speed.
Creature Line-Up
Core
Villein -> Wretch
Blood Sworn -> Blood Witch
Troglodyte -> Abyssal Troglodyte
Elite
Gorgon -> Medusa
Comments: Dungeon is a town which is very focused on Magic attack, and the Wretches enhance that. Use Wretches to infect enemies with Toxic Bite, which will increase the Magical damage they receive. Then use your casters to annhiliate your enemies.
And do not be afraid to use your core creatures in direct combat. Dungeon creatures are durable, they won't die in a single hit. And if your Wretches get hit, they will automatically attack back with Acid Blood and their retailation. Also remember that with Erupt, you can infect a lot of enemies at once and then use an area of effect Magic attack!
Comments: Blood Witches are really dangerous in melee combat, but their true powers come from their spells. With the Wretches Toxic Bite plus the Magic defense reduction from Break Magic, you can easily destroy your enemies with spells very early on in the game. An Air Blood Witch can pretty much ignore all Magical defense.
Comments: Troglodytes are early tanks to Dungeon and can be compared to Praetorians when it comes to survivability. Troglodytes can be used to defend your other creatures, since Gurgle will force enemies to attack them instead of your Blood witches and Wretches. But they can also be used to counter shooters.
Pursue can be used to chase around enemy shooters and prevent them from getting a single shoot while the Troglodyte is alive.
They are immune to several Crowd control abilities aswell, so they can't be stopped without getting killed.
Dungeon Core Comments: Dungeon has an unusual core. They have three non-flying, non-shooting creatures and an early potential caster. Weaken your enemies Magical defenses with Blood witches and Wretch, and tank them with your Troglodytes. Then when the defense is down, finish off your enemy with a powerful spell.
Use Air to kill off low-Magic defense creatures, and Fire to kill off low-Might defense creatures. Protect your own against enemy casters with Water and more commonly, Earth against Might attacks.
And with Twilight: Air, you can easily apply Wretch and Blood witch debuffs to multiple enemies.
There are a lot of possibilities with these creatures plus the special abilities from the Elemental chains racials.
Elite
Comments: The Medusa is now a melee creature, but please do not try to kill her with fire for that. The Medusa retains her old petryfying gaze, but now with a twist. For the first time, it can be used both on your own creatures and enemies!
So if you want to save your Troglodytes from getting destroyed by that champion stack of Pit Lords, you can!
Petrified enemies also have an impact on the battlefield as they block line of sight. If you stand behind them, you will take less damage from shooters.
You can also couple Death's Stare with an attack from your Champion creature, as Death's Stare causes the affected creature to take 20% more additional damage from the next attack.
With Medusas you should choose your targets wisely. You will have to make some choices. Defend your own creatures, paralyze enemy creatures or prevent them from getting a devastating Luck or Morale trigger on the next turn.

Very nice!
I like. Nice, detailed and original- and also quite different from my own version of the Dungeon (pre-Dark Elf). I highly expect to see the others soon!

The setting of the town is just when the Dark elves have moved in, but there is only one true Dark elf in the faction (Blood Witch, a hybrid between a Blood Maiden and a Shadow Witch).
There are two other semi Dark elf creatures (Wretch and another one, who looks much less elven )
I found the troglodyte picture on google and photoshopped it (recoloured to fit the theme of the faction and added the little lantern thing that some deepfish have. I thought it would be a cool touch.

I really like the Villeins and Wretches... fits in perfectly.
Your Troglodytes are badass too... can really imagine some guys lost in a cave... wandering around all scared... and then they see this light at the end of a tunnel, thinking they're saved they run towards it... and then it's all over.
However, I'm strongly allergic to all things that say "random" when it comes to H6 suggestions. I don't like those... makes it hard to make up tactics...

I put in the Wretch because I hated the Dark elves in H5 and wanted to see them suffer.
I HATE random elements like that I can not decide when Unicorns use their Blind in the HoMM games et cetera, so I do try to avoid that.
I guess you are referring to the racial skill, where the elements given to your creatures are random. Well, I thought it would be annoying and slow down the game if you had to pick an element for every single creature before combat started.
Plus there is a special building which will allow you to decide elements. And the element bonuses are quite good, so swapping them around would be a tactical choice and I like choices.

In that case I think you should let us have the "choose-your-elements" building right from the start, but only let people change the elements of their stacks at their town.
Random factor removed, additional awesomeness gained.

Sounds fair to me.
And since access to towns and forts seems so easy in H6, why not?
I will edit it tomorrow.

What coincidence,I made that troglodyte(well I found and modified it first):
Quote:
1.Troglodyte
The weakest chaos minion, troglodytes are small, weak and very high in numbers.Azamoths accept troglodytes in their cities, because they are an important military and working class.Even if they are smaller and weaker than azamoths, troglodytes eat less food,an azamoth eats the quanity of which can be feed ten of them.Troglodytes use a spear with a sharp stone top.
Stats and abilities:Troglodytes have decent attack and normal hp,but are slow.Troglodytes have the abiltiies:Blind creature-as they are a race without eyes, they can fight without,so are immune to blinding
Dwelling:Subbteran Swamp
Upg.Mutated Troglodyte
Staying long time near chaos crystals, troglodytes suffer mutation form their energy. The skin change its color from green to crimson, legs gets longer and unusual bone structures appear on their back. Thanks to these mutations, mutated troglodytes are more powerful and useful for azamoths.
Stats and abilities:Mutated Troglodytes higher attack and defence.Mutated Troglodytes have the abiltiies:Blind creature-as they are a race without eyes, they can fight without,so are immune to blinding,Chaos-activited-staying long time near chaos crystals, their energy is catch in creature's body so all enemy creatures around them, lose 2 defense
Dwelling:Radioactive Swamp

Thanks.
The backstory of the faction is actually based on a previous Sylvan faction that I created. This a bit like the sequel.
