Tower
My vision of Free Cities as towns where everyone regardless of race can make his own home and develop without social constraints.
TOWER
Aka: free cities
In a nutshell: city-states protected by mercenary troops combined from human, elves, dwarves and wizards
Inspiration: italian renaissance style cities, Babel Tower - society of every race, cultural mix
Associated colors: silver and white
Worship: Ylath the Keeper of Secrets, who sees and hears all
Country / kingdom: Free Cities League
Capital city:
Motto: "Our own choice is to stand together"
Key symbols: wind rose, a symbol of freedom of choice
Relations: Sanctuary, Necropolis, Inferno, Haven, Stronghold
Hero Classes:
MIGHT
Captain
Elite officer hired by Free City to protect its borders. They are usually veterans form foreign countries but also an ordinary soldier can be promoted for his loyal service.
Follow my lead: hero gains additional movement points with level
Field Marshal(Tears)
Main commander of city's army. He's a legend praised by his troops who leads them to even impossible victories.
Legendary Leader: units under command have always possitive morale and cannot be decreased
Wind of Glory (ultimate): initiative, might and magic attack of hero's army increase for serveral turns
Vanguard(Blood)
Always foremost in battle fighting alongside his troops. Nothing can stop attack led by Vanguard.
Break-through: defense and morale of enemy's entire army are significantly decreased for several turns
Deep Impact (ultimate): next attack of every hero's unit will be critical
MAGIC
Visionary
Ordinary mages can cast magic. Visionary can feel magic, hear it, see it. With these extraordinary abillities he can shape reality like it was his fantasy.
Essence of Magic: hero's mana pool is doubled
Seer(Tears)
Overwhelmed by magic, Seer drifts in somnolence seeing past, present and future.
Fortune Teller: hero cast random blessing on friendly stack or random curse on enemy stack
Spell Twister (ultimate): hero's army is protected from all spells for several turns
Prodigy(Blood)
Fully aware of his skills, Prodigy dictate what's real and what's delusion. Integraded with flow of magic he's the fate.
Tempest: power of hero's and army spells is increased
Rift (ultimate): all enemy unit in vertical line are damaged and their magic attack and defense are decreased (cannot be dispelled)
Line-up:
CORE
1.Lancer->Dragoon
Primary infantry unit. Formed from human soldiers are main mercenary divisions in Tower army.
Preparation: unit gains additional defense points while defending
Dragoon charge (upgrade): bonus action from morale gives attack bonus to this unit
2.Engineer->Cannoneer
Science is very limited under mountains and dwarven engineers can fully develop their skills under mercenary companies. Their greatest invention is Guardian, statue-like structure which shoots to nearest enemy. Also, they are good shooters armed with crossbow, or their mortars.
Shooter
Guardian: once per battle unit can deploy Guardian (has hp and can be destructed)
BOOM! (upgrade): unit can shot massive bomb that damage 3x3 area
3.Falconer->Bounty Hunter
Unit composed of Elves who live in free cities. Their role is to scout and search for enemy's weakness.
Eye-pluck: by sending his falcon unit can cause blindness on enemy's unit
Bird of Prey (upgrade): falcon always retaliate ranged attacks.
ELITE
1.Scholar->Sorcerer
Order of Four Winds is religious faction in Free Cities which accepts everyone who are willing to explore omniscience of Ylath.
Pressure punch: unit shots pressure waves which push enemy one square back (Shooter)
Caster: casts Haste, Vacuum Pull(pulls enemy up to 5 squares),
Wind Armor (upgrade): gives immunity to water damage but suffers 1.5x fire damage
Caster (upgrade): as above plus Thunder, Shock(paralyze enemy)
2.Pegasus->Star Pegasus
Pegasus are creatures somehow related to horses. They roam freely above steppes of Thallan but are also tamed by human. Some legend says they never sleep just stare on the night sky becouse they came from stars. Only really powerful and charismatic heroes can ride on their back.
Flyer
Unstoppable: this unit cannot be slowed or immobilized
Blessing of the Stars (upgrade): this unit is immune to all mind related spells
3.Norse Guard->Varyag
Barbarian of North worship Ylath for centuries, it's probably origin of orc's cult of Father Sky. Hired by Free Cities nobles, they serve as skilled and powerful private guard. Experienced warriors are called Varyag which means in their language "deadly north wind".
Rampage: when unit destroy enemy stack it gains another action
Hurricane (upgrade): on its way to its main target, this unit attacks all enemy stacks adjacent to its route, delivering 30% of its normal damage to them without suffering retaliation
CHAMPION
Roc->Thunderbird
Mighty birds from legends, the only creature dragons fear in the air. Tamed by Ylath's power they serve as mounts for elite Sky Knights division. Elder Rocs are capable of controling electricity.
Seismic Toss: unit can catch and throw enemy to any place on battlefield dealing 20% of its normal damage
Discharge (upgrade): 25% chance of casting Thunder on hit

No, Varyag cannot be removed xD It is a city not forest that's why humanoids. There are bird as weapon of Falconer, winged stallion, giant vulture-like monster. Every race can join Order of Four Winds, there could be human sorcerer, elven scholar even dwarf could be Ylath follower. Varyags, original worshipers of Dragon of Air, symbolize the north wind, harsh and deadly aspect of Ylath. Also, when elemental dragons were shaping Ashan they created races of their own. Sylanna created elves, Arhath created dwarves, Shallassa created nagas and Ylath created humans. Those original human inhabits north to this day.

I will give feedback on the creatures.
1. The Lancer
- I think that Preparation sounds very boring... why encourage passive gameplay?
Dragon Charge is okay, but it kind of forces the faction into going for Morale to get the most out of it.
1.2. Engineer
- War machines aren't in H6, if you're going to fit it into it.
Boom seems like a nice AE attack.
Otherwise I like that it can be both offensive and supportive.
1.3. I like the Falconer lot. I've always liked the idea of a shooter unit having a little pet. Eye-pluck seems like a tactical and nice ability. Personally, I hated the Succubus ranged retailation in H5. xD
2. Scholar.
- I love Pressure punch! Should be fun. Many spells and abilities, I like that.
2.2 Pegasus.
- Oh, its really nice to see the Pegasi back! However, I think they should get an active, fun spell to make them more interesting.
2.3 Norse Guard
- Rampage seems lethal! I love hyper offensive creatures like this!
An active attack would be nice too.
4. Roc
- No Sylath faction without some great avians. Seismic Toss seems nice, though 20% seems pretty weak. I do not like random abilities like Discharge, but I guess its a classic for Rocs. I think they could use a third ability as they are Champion creatures.

Looks cool.
I must say at first I was a little bit afraid since it seems similar to a Free city Faction that I have been working on, but it isn't that much.
Thunder Bird works awesome in this.
