And there is a problem of border pixels too.
So most time of creating screen of town goes into fighting with technical difficulties

Hi guys.Heres a little update.Macron has asked me about this town recently so I'll tell you how the town situation looks like.I have stopped working on this town few monts ago as it was taking too long for my computer to render all the stuff.I might still come back to the project if i feel like doing this.Here are the last renders made on my friends computer,i made some basic animations of a few buildings
And here's a little modified version to fit a wider 800x374 resolution with a test background.Everything is still work in progress

Im coming back to this project.Thanks to the help from Macron1 I will be able to maintain the in-game quality as on the pictures above.Until october i will be doing just small things as Im not at home and I will need powerfull computer for the rendering Thats all for now
EDIT : I couldnt help myself and I alredy made a background with Lv1 Town Hall
I will continue with this background.I feel like H5 terrain needs some more detail but I'll leave it for now.Anyway im not sure If i can make it any better Again coments,sugestions,critisism etc are welcome

As for the news,this is how the town looks like at the moment :
Just one 4 frame animation is made to check things out.I didnt make any special effects yet ;] I can tell that this town as is will be for stronger computers.My 2 year old laptop is already lagging slightly on town screen.The images are rendered as 48 bit ( 281 trillion colours ),i think i can nerf it a bit and make alternative version also.Now comes the hard part because i need to decide what to do with the lower part of the city ( should i put shipyard in which is hidden behind stone pillar and unholy temple (pretty not needed as there are already 2 special buildings ) which arent visible and if should change something with lower lights.Ill take my time with this.So thats all for now

Hello guys.Havent been here for a while but im back with some good newsI finally found some time to give this town some attention and managed to create first (hopefuly!^^) working version This town has some history and i have a feeling I'll be messing with it for the next 10 years so I thought its better not to make you wait so long ;] This town still needs some minor fixes and it is still not compatible with VCMI 0.97 version(I hope you could help me with this,im not up to date with that)The heroes arent done,so i put the Abode ones,sorry dont have much time ;] The town is tested on 0.95b version.I'll upload it too if you need it.Here are some screenshots :
And here are the download links.I divided the file because its pretty big (330 mb ).Oh and you'll need pretty good computer for this,it has been lagging a bit on my low-middle class laptop ;]Here are the links :

Tried this. Got crash before I could get to the main menu. It was like bam bam bam 3do. Crash

It works with 0.95b now, need to update json configs to mod to work on last 0.97 version.

Ye the priority will be to make it work on 0.97.I saw its much more stable.After that i want to modify the armies a bit(Exchange mummies to wights,undead hounds to zombies and fix 7 lv creature configuration.There's something wrong with the 7lv upgrade i still havent figured out)fix the town hall texts(something wrong with green crystal building),add necromancer heroes,update siege files,and finally to adjust the looks of city.There are hundreds of ideas i have, i only wish i could be better with 3dsmax ;]

Here's something new Macron1 did a great job and converted the town to 0.97 version.The creature stack is the same as in original Necropolis now.Still there are no new heroes.For now there are random old heros.Here's the screenshot

Well,post a screenshot.I'll have an idea what are you talking about.Its probably that your graphic card makes it darker.Well it shouldn't be difficult to make a brighter alternative, if its needed

Is not about graphics card. Look at interface around: all is done to offer good visibility for the town above, or this town is like a dark hole in the middle of the galaxy. No matter how well is designed, it's just way too dark and out of place, and same critics apply to romanian town as well, from my opinion. Look at existing towns, hota, bastion, oasis and the closest to what you want, the grove. Even grove, which is quite dark, has so beautiful and creative lights that we get a global perspective when looking at.
Here we just search for buildings, like a blind man. Sorry for being negative, maybe is not too late to take another option, if you agree.

Take a look at pictures from Minas Morgul:
Minas Morgul images through Google
Minas Morgul is a pretty good example of what a Necropolis should look like: it's dark and creepy, yet at the same time the use of lighting at strategic places make it recognizable, even at a distance.
You can achieve similar effects by putting torches and fire pits / fire pots around the image and letting those illuminate (parts) of your image.

He said he would be working on it for the next ten years, now after you said it was too dark he has not posted for over a year again... very sensible artist, your critiscisms (Justified!) killed him : P should have congratulated him for the effort too lol
