Here's last version of Silaneo's Necro Mod for VCMI.

It's playable with 0.98g version, but game strangely lags when we enter this town. It's due to non-optimizing graphics.
It seems tha Silaneo abanddoned not only this project, but Heroes Community at all (he didn't answet at messages and emails).
So, if somebody wants to take over the city and make/improved graphics (cyan background for alpha channel background) in this pack will find all Silaneo's resources. I think I can rewrite existing vcmi code to finish town, but I have not appriopate graphic skills

Thaks. What about WoG version? It can be fast rebuild for Era?

Don't think so. Because if it was easy to rewrite vcmi mods to ERA, we would have Forge/Bastion/Asylum/Preserve towns already for ERA2.

Hello guys I want to write about a few things.In a last few years I've been having a lot different RL issues ( mainly health related ) than made me unable to continue working with this town.At this point in my life I think I may be able to overcome my health problems but still its certain I will be totally busy in 2017.I have been thinking about this town recently and decided that it wouuld be best for this town as well as for heroes community If I gave You the source files I have.You can use the files in any way You want.I would be very happy If any of the modders would decide to develop this town.It has a lot of potential.Im with You guys and hopefully If I overcome my RL issues I'll continue checking on ya Anyway here are the source files and the mod for vcmi 0.97 I had :

New Necrotown : Death Valley
Greetings all! I have begun brainstorming a project stemming from all of this wonderful work I am calling Death Valley. I will post more here as I go, step by step as I am hoping I will be able to rely on the community for lots of help as I am mostly imaginative, not skilled!!!! I am currently in the brainstorming and resource gathering phase, so it's very early yet. Thank you for your attention.

your buildings stick out like a sore thumb. if they don't blend with the background, both in shading and color, they won't look good.
besides, i think this thread is already taken with someone else's project. i don't think overlapping projects in the same thread is a good idea.

Yep, I am a brand new artist having only just downloaded Paint.net within the last 48 hours, and this work represents a night of enthusiastic internet searching, building gathering and creating, and experimenting. Any recommendations on ways to match the buildings to the environment is welcome, as would be anyone who wanted to join in if the concept intrigues them. In fact my ONLY modding experience so far was when I was given the wonderful opportunity to write backgrounds for the heroes of the fairy town mod, which I appreciate Misiokles for that opportunity, and would freely offer my writing talents to anyone who asked.
As for the other project, it is that project that has inspired me to want to do a town, particularly of an undead nature. Many things I was planning on using were inspired by this project, and as Silaneo made this post about it, I thought I might take up the challenge, always keeping in mind his awesome project...

If I have stepped on anyone's toes in my interest I apologize. I would like to point out though that the mods made are all made by fans of the game who share freely their creations and ideas. Honestly the more the better in my opinion, and I truly appreciate everyone's projects. That being said I will be happy to move this project to a new thread if that is what is required of me to do, and I appreciate the feedback, as well as any advice on modifying structures etc.

if you just started in the last 48 hours, then you have quite a ways to go. another thing you should work on for your townscreen, is sizing. i know you want to be able to fill your screen appropriately, but you shouldn't do this using images that are the wrong size proportionately to the screen terrain depth, or even with one another. it is very difficult to get the right look from images that you find on the internet alone(i've been there), which is one of the reasons why i'm going into the business professionally to learn how to make my own content, instead of doctoring what i scour the internet for.
your town and silaneo's, as well as others, resemble my own, as far as the darker theme goes; for the townscreen. i'm sure there will be others. i hope to one day be able to release my own as i imagined it. but take into consideration that you need much more than graphics to make your own town. it's a lot of hard work, and the workload required leaves a lot of towns unrealized.

I have seen that just looking through files. Honestly it's fine by me, I am in no hurry.... I just got a new program and honestly the insomnia swept me into a creative streak and I wanted to share :-P
Truthfully one town that makes me smile whenever I play it is the Greenhouse!!! It's not high on the artistic awards list necessarily, but it really does amuse me to no end! I will look forward to hopefully playing some of your towns in the future as well!

it'll be at least 4 years, most likely. i have to go to college first. my version of the Forge town probably won't be anything special, but it'll come with a lot of adventure objects and decorations. my Fear town will be more invasive, since i'll be creating all of the creatures and town myself.

I thought I remembered you mentioning the Fear town.....I actually was excited about that one. lol...I have 3 different versions of the Forge town at the moment, and cant decide which one I like best :-P....the ones I have been most anticipating lately have been the Oasis and Romanian towns.

Hi guys,I'm back Had some free time so i got back to 3dsmax and my old town and decided to do something new like adding some light and change background to evening time.I hope its brighter now;p If i have some time i will try to put everything into vcmi 0.99.How do You like it ? Nah,sorry Zeryss.I dont plan on importing any H5 town anymore.There are two reasons - first is that it takes crazy amount of work to get all the files together and then to transform it to 3dsmax.The second reason is I already forgot how i did that in the first place So yeah If I ever make a new town it will be either from H2 or something totally new in 3dsmax
