Invitation into Age of Heroes HOMM6 Team
Fellow community members and HOMM fans,
With HOMM6 release approaching I found myself in a dilemma. I've mostly stepped away from computer games and don't even remember when I last played HOMM. And I've developed a dangerous condition - RL addiction  Basically I can't see myself actively developing a HOMM6 site on AOH. At the same time AOH still stands as the most visited HOMM fan site, and it would be a shame to let everyone's work fade into history by not having an active HOMM6 section.
I'd like to invite interested people from the community to step up and form the Age of Heroes HOMM6 team. I will provide what's needed in terms of FTP access, databases, URLs (heroesofmightandmagic.com/heroes6 , heroesofmightandmagic6.com, heroesofmightandmagicvi.com), AOH news posting access and other hosting technicalities. The team will be coding the site from scratch and the simple requirements will be to put some game ads (like on the rest of AOH) and to stay within the AOH "brand".
The AOH HOMM6 section is likely to get thousands of daily visitors from its opening and the team members will get full public credit for developing and running it.
So far on the team we have Cepheus who has been keeping AOH news up to date and is keen to participate in developing the HOMM6 section.
We need at least one or two people with technical skills - PHP and MySQL. Also people who like to write articles and make data pages, and people who are good with design and graphics.
Anyone who is interested - let us know in this thread, and provide a brief profile of your skills and what you would like to do in the AOH HOMM6 team.

While I don't really have any php or mysql skills, sadly - I quite enjoy writing reviews/recaps, tactical/balance analyses and such, and I probably will do it anyway, so - might as well do it "officially", if you wish. Someone would have to help me with uploading the stuff I write, however, since I'm completely ignorant about coding. 
some of my reviews or analysis: balance analysis, game reviews, or tactical analysis, even though the last one is old and probably very newby by modern standards

I know a lot about mysql and database scripting, in fact ppl call me the "sql guy" in the company, although I cannot tell the same about the graphic part.
What I have in mind is documenting creatures of ashan and enroth, including the m&m and the creature recurring and new outside heroes, like coh and dm&m
Of course the Heroes 6 page comes into mind first. I would love to documenting everything about it.
I have a brief experience in PHP because mostly on my work I use Java and JSP but I don't see it as a big problem.
I (of course) greatly interested in heroes especially Heroes 6, I also have something in mind related to Heroes 6. With the abundance of Fan-made faction, I would love to have our own section of Fan-made Heroes 6 Faction exclusive on AOH put them on the main page, for fun and for good read of course
So let me know if I can be some help

I've been doing branding/graphic design for a good 15 years now. I can handle basic front end junk too.

I am currently struggling to even pass database managment and programming class in school so I suck at php and mysql but AoH have really made my Heroes gaming easier and more fun and I am grateful of AoHs existance. So if there is anything a future owner of H6(special version) with minimal mysql and php understanding can do to help I would love to do it. I really hope there will be a place where everything you need to know about H6 is, just like H1-5 at AoH.

I would love to be a part of HoMM6 team, because I think I have the skills and experience needed.
I can work with design, I enjoy making posters, covers for books and booklets etc. Also I can paint, on paper or canvas, but I don't have enough patience for that.
In addition, I manage a few websites and I could help with the website design. Recently I started learning Drupal. It is a powerfull engine for creating various things from social and commercial to representative or even government sites... It would be a good step towords future if we thinked about switching to drupal.
However, my best contribution to the project would be ideas. I have a lot of them so I could be something like your idea generation machine 
And this is not the end.

Thanks to all the new applicants, it looks like we have applicants who write, do databases, design graphics and do general project management. It seems that we're still missing someone with solid PHP/coding skills. Does anyone know anyone with these skills who would be interested in being part of this project?

I can do the PHP, I have done it in the past, but the main job I have now is using Java mainly JSP. Given enough chance and resource I can refresh my skill in PHP as well.

I've never really taken part in the community aspect of this site, but I have used it as a resource. I'd like to say that I'm available to volunteer to assist with the workload of maintaining an informative and awesome guide to the new game when it releases.
I'm highly proficient in photoshop/design, and will to do grunty stuff like getting screen captures and isolating elements like creatures or artifacts as individual images.
I'm also willing to assist with writing to get the information on HOMM6 fleshed out when people start pouring in looking for details.
I have minimal experience with php/sql. Mostly just what I've learned through maintaining forums like phpbb and modifying Wordpress. So I can handle basic tasks with that, but I've no doubt there are people more qualified than I who would direct someone like me on what to do.
Feel free to let me know if there's a need for me to contribute any man hours to this endeavor.

I wanted to ask if Heroes VI will be translated to different languages like Heroes V.
I'm working as a translator and I wanted to know if there is a need for translators for this game. (from english to hungarian in my case)

Ok, everyone who volunteered here has been contacted, and the project is now started.
We are looking for more writers who wish to submit their HOMM6 related articles to the new site - data based articles, strategic articles, comparative articles, or anything else interesting. Drop a line here if you wish your work to be published.
The site will go public and will be announced once we build up some content.

BTW the project is underway and shaping up, and more contributors are welcome. Technical expertise is not a requirement as we also need people to write articles and make data pages.

If wanted/needed, I can contribute to the map editor section for H6. My PHP/SQL skills are fairly weak, but I learn quickly if this is needed for writing anything concerning the editor. I was mostly thinking documenting sections, since the editor lacks that severely. A nice table with descriptions for each Trigger f.ex.
Anyway, if wanted I'd need some pointers and guiding as for how to start and proceed.

Hold your pants on man, I said end of this month in the other thread. I've got Haven and Inferno 98% creatures finished, and the other creatures sections 80%.
Here is the haven creatures page. Note that the gold costs and growth numbers have not been updated, nor have I double checked any of the other numbers.
