Quote: In the Prologue Campaign, did anyone else end up doing the second map of that one before the first?
When I started it, it defaulted to The Emperor's Will instead of Griffin Bane and I didn't even notice there were numbers for them so I started the 2nd map. Hell, now that I think of it, the 2nd map should have been locked until I finished Griffin Bane.
Yes for some reason you start the 2nd one first and after that you can select the first mission After finishing that one it says if you want to continue to the next map but you have already cleared it...so I said no and started the Sanctuary one. Hopefully they fix this in the retail game. It also says "Tide Warrior" instead of "Kenshi" when you first meet one in the underground area.

Err, Griffin Bane is a TUTORIAL, albeit a rather advanced one.
But nonetheless a tutorial (only).
Playing the tutorial is completely voluntary.
However, playing the Prologue is mandatory - you can play the campaigns only after that, albeit in any order you like, even though there is a suggested order for the sake of the general story.
One u have completed all campaigns you will... err. I don't know whether it's save to say, so I in'll better keep quiet.

Nope, I have just checked and both of them are tutorial campaigns. You must play The Empire's Will first before you can select Griffin Bane(which should be the first one) Griffin Bane teaches you the very basic of gameplay while The Empire´s will teaches you a bit more advance things, and is also much harder and much longer than Griffin Bane. Not to mention the beta walkthrough says the same.

Nope, you can play Griffin Bane first without playing the Emperor's Will.

Nuh-uh! Not when you get into the game for the very first time. But after you have completed The Emperor's Will you are free to select both.

Huh?
You can play everything in the beta as you like - there are no prerequisites at all. Default is on Emperor's will.
Griffin Bane is simply a standalone tutorial map for the whole game that introduces all game elements. You may play it or not.
Emperor's Will, however, is indeed a Prologue to what happens in the campaigns and mandatory.

The point is, storyline-wise, Griffin Bane takes place before The Emperor's Will and also contains the tutorial. Thus, Griffin Bane should be the default as starting first.

You are hearing a modified version of the Heroes V grass theme which - I suppose - is campaign-exclusive.

Come on, more than two weeks have passed and just one so called patch? How the hell are we supposed to test the game's ballance if things go this slow?
It was f**ked up from the beginning by allowing only hotseat multiplayer.

There are some clues that there might be no patch or at least nothing addressing the balance issues. Whatever the case is, they certainly don't look interested in supporting the beta, so I wouldn't set my hopes high.

I wouldn't hold my breath on any patches. Wasn't this only supposed to run for 3 weeks? Well that means this will probably stop working next Tuesday or Wednesday.

Firstly - thanks for the last anserws. Elvin - I have found shooters and after playing a bit more, creature's abilities looks more interesting
What do you think about magic? I was casting ice bolt with spell power about 8 and the damage was laughable. Classic "hand" hit is much much stornger.

Yeah icebolt is the most useless spell in terms of damage. Firebolt at least does more damage than the hero's direct attack but either way the values are off. Will be fixed no doubt.

Icebolt seems to me a tactical spell not a damage one. It freezes the target for one turn like the water elemental does. It can be interesting just for that .

Which is how I use it at the moment but I doubt that the damage being so low is intentional.

I don't know if this was brought up in the last 25 pages, so I'll ask.
Is there a reason why the Griffin/Imperial Griffin's Diving Assault does so little damage? Right now that ability is a joke. It doesn't kill anything.

I believe it is a bug with the computation of the damage when performing the dive. While in description it says the two amounts should be equal the normal attack damage is way higher.
