Twilight, Applejack and Spike first appeared in the original series. Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity and Fluttershy are from the third series.
It's too bad they made the second and third series so... lame. Shows with action are more entertaining for little girls, kids wont just watch any garbage you put in front of them. (Not many of them anyway)

You know, that stuck up prince is described as Celestia's nephew. Wouldn't that make him Luna's son? Maybe he's such as jerk because his mother was sealed away shortly after he was born and he never got to know her.
Or maybe Celestia and Luna have other siblings we don't know about.
Or maybe they don't have kids and randomly adopt the douchiest ponies they can find into the royal family?
