Since few people have shown interest, let's do a proper application process for this role.
BACKGROUND
- This person will help people get custom avvies up more quickly, can help them resize images, etc, and maintain quality control of the avvies in a way no automated system can.
- Responsible person who expects to be on HC for years to come.
- Not overloaded with too many other commitments.
SKILLS REQUIRED
- Resizing and cropping images well (not in MS Paint  ).
- Knowing how to work with JPG and GIF, including transparent GIF.
- Detailed file size optimization of GIF and JPG formats.
- Knowledge of HC rules about custom avatars.
- Using FTP.
TIME COMMITMENT
- Around 1-2 hours per month. Although more frequent uploads are welcome.

I'm quite familiar with avatars and graphics.I started to work in Adobe Photoshop 3 years ago and I edited/resized a lot of images in this time.I'm experienced and I know how to change color channels and to add transparency to .gif,.png,.psd files,but I worked a lot of .jpeg files as well.
I'm the owner of a 3 year old site and I'm quite skilled in making avatar galleries and uploading them using FTP.I know the limit of an avatar here is 4kb.I'm active on HC and I enter here everyday.Because of these facts I think I fit as the avatar uploader.

I know nothing of that stuff but I want to say that lizard has a big nose, reminds me of.... caugh pinocchio caugh....
We all know how reliable that turned out 
Why not give the ability to one of the mods and worse case scenario we can all pitch in and help him out, its not that much of a deal

on topic:
It would be good to have an automated avatar uploader,but I guess Val don't put one because it would not stop some users of uploading exaggeratedly huge avatars.
Smithey,moderators can post here if they want to do this job,as well as normal members,but moderators are usually busy keeping the boards clean.So why to give to much tasks to moderators when there are free members which want to do this job and will do only this job on the forum.
I have experience and I think I can do this job.
