Jedi Story, new map for SOD
I don't know much about the mapmaker, but the map is top. I am in 13th month, played as fast as possible and have still 1/3 to explore.
DOWNLOAD
There are many complaints that weekly creatures can screw the map, thus I created a WoG version and removed all possible scripts, so it will play exactly as SOD but without spawn and plague.
WOG version
Give it a try, you will not be disappointed. If you enjoy the mapmaker "special humor" you will surely appreciate to find that the grail (after visiting about 40 obelisks) is on a hole, so not available. Finding the paths may require having the editor constantly opened, but well...
Preview (some visual reference to TEW II for those who played it-gods of water/fire/air/earth area-):

Ah, thanks.
Actually it's not me who's playing the map 'cause I have other things to do so I don't what's exactly going on there but he asked me to ask in the forum.
EDIT He found another Blackshart Swort somewhere around the tower town hidden as event.

Oh my poor one. TP is available as soon as you get water walk, month 2 max. Return at your start location, cast water walk and reach behind the subterranean gate the tome of earth. Btw, from there you can also cast water walk on your left, then summon boat and get for free...the orb of vulnerability.
Doesn't sound much easier suddenly?

It's very funny that mapmaker placed almost all goodys near home town.
That includes Grail also
Tome of earth should be accessible end of M1/start M2. Without it I guess it will be very, very slow and painful game.
Good luck

Just to check, I removed all water areas (on main path), and finished the map in 4 months. Tired of switching to admiral hat every two steps.

Always, always, press "V" key as soon as you are in a new area , and identify hidden artefacts or resources blocking path.

"Water everywhere!!" event crashes my game every time. It's right there where the cursor is...
Any way to get past that?
EDIT: koelle, there's a whirpool in the camouflaged field on the left, after the quest gate. Right in the middle of it. Was also stuck there for a while. Map is quite tedious in that regard.

Yes, quick combat or cast water walk, once on the event near you, return and cast summon boat. The mapmaker added an event on day seven about this fight.

Finished. But way too late, in month 21. But with countless dead ends (at the time), getting lost, and searching for those hidden artifacts and paths, not to mention no logistics nor navigation nor pathfinding, guess it was not "that" late.
Nice map, glad I played it, but it can get quite tedious and frustrating.
Carried almost exclusively archangels alone with me, once I got clone and a decent number of them (sometime after Queen City, I think).
Hardest battles were Lord Dracula, and Lord Titan. Of course, only because of terrain. For Titan, brought massive number of dragonflies (20k) with archangels, and for Dracula, at the end, silver pegasi, war unicorns and again big numbers of dendroid soldiers.
Finished the map with "Heroes abandoning cause"...know the three pink heroes, behind that 9999 dragons event near a rampart, but somewhere else was another green hero, couldn't find him.
Looking forward to similar maps, and will maybe replay it in the future. Reckon, it'll be quite faster this time.
Btw, Salamandre, where you got those rust dragons?

Titan is easy, he has a radius of 3 squares, so he stupidly will get out of castle if you go with less army. Dracula is the hardest, I fought him on 12th month and lost 500 zealots, mainly to towers (long battle)
The map is very tedious after a while, I agree, the profusion of hidden soils is exhausting. But except that, it is a very good and well designed map.
I got the rust dragons near the first dungeon, dragon master "forgot" to join them, and they made babies. Was helpful vs Dracula.
Another big flaw are the angel wings and the 99999 resources from the azures. Needles to say, I did not fight that one and relied on normal resources income, much more interesting.

Angel wings? I got quiet eye of the dragon with resources. As for resources, in my game they weren't that helpful, as I was late, already found a rampart with treasury (later two more), so money was not a problem then, didn't need to sell them.
Nice about Rust dragons, I had to fight them after they joined dragon guy, but did so near the end of map as well, so it was easier. When I first was in area, got beaten easily. Though, with enough spell points, and patience, think it would be possible then too, with force field I mean. Used it this time as well.
EDIT: Ah, wings are on hero...
