How Does Heros IV Trump Heros III?
Now, there have been a lot of threads asking for all our creatures back and expansions (already!!) and how does the necropolis look and things. But there's very little positive feedback. This thread is here to ask in what ways is heros IV BETTER than heros III?
I, myself am looking forward to sending my heros in to battle and being able to guard my mines with my troops!!

Heroes IV does Trump over Heroes III in terms of the graphical and musical content.
After watching the video especially from the Russian site, the scale, depth and beauty of Heroes IV totaly blows away Heroes III completely.
The music gets better each time.
The graphica and animation is ubelievable.
Also it appears to be more COLORUTFUL as well.
Heroes III had a drab sort look to it. More dark and secretive.
Heroes IV is more bright and refreshing like a breath of cool fresh air.
Also is has a sort of Heroes II feel to it somehow and that was hailed when it came out.

The graphics are absolutely amazing! That goes without saying!! I also like the prison idea.. being able to 'liberate' your heros would save lotsa gold!!

The use of heroes as a physical part of the battle is really is a big improvement IMO. The graphics look great. The way they blended the dwellings in with different town types actually adds a great deal of variety. Take the Necropolis for instance: You can choose to go all necro, or go all demon, or mix up both depending on your play style. My personal preference is necro, and I will always take vampires. You can apply this to the other sides. It's all good!!

Graphics in the sense of a new resolution, sharper cleaner stuff, new perspective and some textures. I really like how they have pretty much fully creatures. The graphics are very sharp, and very colorful... looking much more like the happy pastel-colored Heroes2 that I loved! I think many of the units are well done, such as the crusader (the detail on his armor is astounding) the champion (also good attention to detail) the dragon golem (not the concept, but the artwork is excellent!) nightmare etc. etc.
I won't get into the concept ideas here... it is far too messy, and there is no sense in arguing it because I don't like it, so I won't get into it and everyone is happy.

How? You mean so you don't have to spend the 2500g (or whatever it costs now) to get him back? I'd rather get him back the old way, at least it was safe and could be done any time. To save this bit of money you would have to go through the trouble of attacking the enemy castle (which means casualties as well, which means you lose money). I think it's easier to just pay and rehire him..

the concept of having to choose between creature dwellings in town, and creatures having more special abilities rocks. that and the higher quality graphics are the main thing imho.

From what I've seen so far, the only thing HOMMIV trumps HOMMIII in is the music. The graphics are gutwrenching! More colorful, indeed! This isn's supposed to be teletubbies! Or Pokemon! What happened to the natural look of HOMMIII? It wasn't drab or dull, as some of you have claimed. You've just watched too much Ricki Lake, and you have very little concept of what makes a game look great. Contrary to what some of you seem to think, more shiny/fluorescent things does NOT make for better graphics. Play with my little pony instead!
And what's the deal with the trees (used-to-be-forests)?
"To make it look more realistic, we have to make sure that there can only be one tree per hex. Great!" Yeah, that looks cool. Looks like you're in a botanical garden where they've planted one tree of each species on a row. Bring back the forests!
And to all of you who, upon being confronted with crititque of HOMMIV graphic, said, "you're so ignorant, that's just concept art, you wont be able to see that in the game" or "that will look completely different from a distance".
Well, guess what? YOU'RE ******* WRONG!!!!!!!!!
Some of the units looks every bit as bad as I feared they would, and the colors resemble those I saw on my last LSD trip!
I'm looking forward to the scripting device, though. That, at least, should be great.

Hmm.. Gerdash, might want to clarify that into higher-resolution graphics.
DonGio, I've been trying to tell people that for the last couple months and they all tell me not to judge the game before it comes out, nothing is wrong with it, the graphics are Awezohm and so on. Maybe you can take them somwhere with it, but apparently my opinion is far too critical for most people.

Hey, Darion, good to see another soul capable of critical thoughts (not sure if that makes good sense in english, but hopefully you (and others) get my point).
The game really does not look better in any screenshot or movie or anything I've seen. Yeah, sure the graphic resolution is higher and so on, but the only things that have impressed me from what I've seen and heard so far, are the music and the scripting tool.
Even some of the units that looked good in the concept art stage, look awkward and ugly in the game.
I will buy the game, and hopefully enjoy it alot, but it will be because of music, playability and the tactic aspects of the game, I'll probably play it blindfolded to avoid seeing the graphics.
Lastly, I would like to say that I would appreciate anyone truly happy with the new graphics trying to explain to me why, cause I can't for the life of me see how anyone can think such a thing.

Easier isnt always better. And by getting ennemy's castle, you get more income....more money <shrug>
1-I like the new skill system, more unique heroes. Most skills are usefull. But you cant get all of them.
2-No unit upgrad is cool,no one was recruiting lesser versions anyway.
3-H4 seems more challenging,less "free" stuff,rough economy.
4-Spells,good idea to see different heroes with different spells.
5-Heroes involved on battlefield will put fights at a new level.
6-Really different units, lots of special abilities.
