Heroes of Might and Magic 1!
Just found HOMM 1 Windows 95 at my local shop.
I remebered this game in my younger days but never knew it was Heroes of Might and Magic. I turned over the box and saw all the creatures I remembered I uses to fight each other in battles...NOW IM STOKED! Maybe it was II I played I can't remember?
Anyways, My computer is newer running Vista and when the cd is in my D drive it says "Require Windows 95"...If anyone knows what I have to do to be able to get this game running on my computer so I could play it I would be ecstatic!
I do remember Phoneixs kicking ass and that Dragons ruled...Thanks!

This was the first thing that came to my mind:
The reason you are not able to see each other when you are connected to the same network is because that most of the 90's games do not support a "TCP/IP" connection, but an "IPX" connection. I don't know if it is possible to play HoMM I LAN on newer machines - maybe through Hamachi.
That's all I know, perhaps some experts have better answers.

Yes, it is possible to play the good old Heroes via Hamachi. Some pictures of most recent battles you may find here. I, myself, even tried to play a couple of times. Lot of fun despite the old age of this game
