Good vibes, I always like to maximise the main hero though, but it seems like the quests is where you gain the majority of experience, the battles don't help building experience at all when you get to level 15 plus....

Well, that depends on what you fight against . If you fight late-game neutral stacks of Core creatures that range into the 3000+ in size, experience still goes up fast .

I actually messed up in one of the missions and got stacks as large as 100k Praetorians, 19 000 Air Elementals, 10 000 Cyclops and so on...

Phew, that's spending alot of time on a map! I try to cruise through as many castles as quickly as possible, once you start building troops faster than neutrals or AI, you finish well...
Just something though I want to comment on, in previous heroes games, it was better to focus on one enemy stack at a time, esp shooters, but in H6 it seems more efficient to reduce all enemy stacks in shared proportion so that each enemy stack reduces similarily....due to the defense of creatures in H6....

Actually, due to retaliations, I still prefer to bring them down stack by stack, with Ranged attackers being prefered target until melee stacks become a higher threat.
It's easier to heal one stack by a lot, than multiple stacks a little.

Game stopping bug !!!!!!!!!
I just finished the first campaign for Haven, then clicked "continue" four times, and it jumped back to the campaign selection screen, but I can never go to the second campaign.
Who experienced this bug? How can I continue the game?

You can't select one of the other faction's buttons at the top of the campaign map?

Well it depends, my rule of thumb is, yes, always go for enemy shooters first, but if you are dealing with 3 x melee units coming your way, then damage them equally and don't focus on one stack at a time. If an unattacked stack reaches you with full stack size, it will do more damage and will be longer to kill it...

On the second map you can't walk around unless you defeat the Necropolis? It seems very difficult because of those stupid Ghosts and my units die so quickly, not enough mana to heal that often etc...

Yes, the first task is to capture the Necropolis in the southeast corner. Once you've done that, the "wall" protecting the river crossing to the west disappears, so you can capture the Haven town that is on the other side.
If it's any comfort, the fight to capture that Necropolis was in my opinion the hardest fight on that map. Even with the Baron showing as "Low" and the castle's forces also showing "Low", I had to redo that fight a few times to win. Apparently, combined it comes up as "Deadly" or something, coupled with the enemy hidden behind walls.

There are no difficult fights during the Haven campaign, I finished it on Hard and the only time when I had to employ some finesse was during the third mission because I deliberately wanted to assault the objective town with inferior army just to go to the next mission faster. The AI is just too stupid to be something more than a nuisance and your only concern should be prolonging the game too much and allowing some key neutral stacks to grow too large (see my above post with the 10k Cyclopes - you will have great difficulties removing such a mob from your way when your entire army is less than 5k creatures large but you have to mess up badly to get yourself in such situation).
Here's an army composition which needs only Tactics for execution and which the AI never manages to deal with:
- place the Crossbowmen/Marksmen in the lower or upper corner;
- place the Sentinels/Praetorians diagonally in front of them;
- place the Sisters/Vestals next to the Sentinels/Praetorians so they can close the way to the Crossbowmen/Marksmen for creatures coming frontally;
- place some of the large Elites, preferably the Sun Riders/Crusaders on the other side of the Sentinels/Praetorians so the Crossbowmen/Marksmen are protected from the flank as well;
- you can put the Glories in the square next to the Crossbowmen/Marksmen on if you are defending or somewhere else if you are attacking - in the former case you have a creatures which scores free hits against the enemy.
Additionally, you are always better off casting Guardian Angel on the Sentinels/Praetorians. With the above turtle they are shielding 3 or 4 creatures so whatever the enemy hits takes just half damage and the shielding Sentinels/Praetorians take nothing - then you can easily heal the damaged stack with the Sisters/Vestals when necessary. You'll hardly ever see any casualties worth mentioning this way.

The only problem I see there is when you're facing area of effect damage. That's a lot of stacks getting hit then.

It's not a problem. The Sentinel/Praetorian's Shield Guard soaks damage even from AoE spells, so the creatures it guards take only half of the splash effect, just like with normal attacks. With Guardian Angel on the Sentinels/Praetorians the said creatures take nominal damage again and the meat shield protecting them just stands there like an indestructible pylon. And besides, with so weak direct-damage spells, you have nothing to fear from even without healing - with a sizable army it will take at least 10 turns of constant bombardment before you feel anything and the battle is usually over much before that.

Yes that seems like quite a fortress for Haven. I've not played much due to coming exams but so far I've learnt that Marksmen deal the bulk of the damage for Haven, when properly used. Not to mention, when using turtle strat, the AI for some reason take no urgency in taking down castle gates. They seem to crowd around the gate for 1-2 turns before deciding to actually hit it with large creatures. This way, my 300 marksmen usually can take down 10-20 Core per shot per stack.
The only annoyance I've faced is green and red attacking me simultaneously, leaving me to always choose between towns to lose. I didn't finish off green early because i rushed to claim the nearby towns for extra growth and by the time I wanted to attack green, red is already attacking me. Dont know if I played it right...

Which map are you referring to? In any case, when facing multiple enemies, from different directions, I find it useful to get a Town Portal and Advanced Town Portal up as soon as possible. If you scout far enough, you can see the enemy coming and prepare accordingly, by teleporting your Hero around your castles and forts.

Perhaps you are confusing the tutorial campaign for the real deal? The tutorial only offers 2 maps to play through, after which you get bounced back to the overall campaign menu. From there, you can select any of the five factions by the button at the top of that page to select it to play. Each factions' campaign is 4 maps long.
Once you've finished a map, you should get a window with details on the next mission, with several options. One of them, at the bottom right, is to continue with the next mission.
