To the west of the gates, closer to the other side of the map. Press O to see the quest locations, the location should be marked by a cross. I think it was guarded by a border guard which you could not pass earlier? Just get close to it and it will open.

Hello,
I`m having real troubles going throught second map of haven campaing. No matter how much I fight, I find it impossible to beat all those 3 heroes ( Igor Yvana and 1 more). They have all deadly armies. Hints? Maybe I waited to long to attack them?.

I think this game is really hard, I am in the second mission on normal Heaven, and I seem to be stuck. I conquered some townes , but after a while a necropolis hero with 150 archlich's and 150 vampires comes and atack's me. I managed to kill him too, but then it's like the good hero pipe bursts and they seem to pour like mad, and I cannot do a damn snow about them even with all the units resurected and made from towns

Are there reputation point limits on each campaign map? I was playing Haven1 map again but after 214 reputation points in one direction the abilities don't give me any more. Or is it a bug?

I thought the Inferno campaign was the worst campaign in the game. Then I played the Haven campaign.
Did they not have testers for the campaigns or something? Did they think people would enjoy this garbage?

So I finished the campaign a few days ago with Anton as a Confessor.
Jeezes, it was almost ridiculously easy. Mass Regeneration that heals of 500 hit points a turn, Mass Stoneskin raising Might Defence by 40 and Mass Healing doing about 5k Light Damage to Inferno Troops. This without taking Meditation in account, which raises your spellpower by another 20
Welp!
As if the Campaign isn't boring enough at it is (especially mission 4), but with a Confessor (Magic+Tears) it's ridiculously easy. The entire missions I have Necro-esque convervability and I believe I had less that 10 battles where I actually lost units. This in the final mission where you are constantly invaded by the AI and including the final battle against Ahribban (which lasted 3 rounds(!) and where i lost a mere 100 griffins).
I tried as a Paladin before, but Confessors are fricking dangerous. They get a very good blend of primary skills (the only issue is Might Defence, but that is compensated by Mass Stoneskin and the tears path) and with meditation their healing spells become impossible to outcast.
Battles of equal strengths are usually won without losses and done so quite easily - Just Meditation + Mass Regenerate/Stoneskin, then a repeating Pressed Attack/Burning Determination/Heroism cycle and (Mass) Healing in the final round to ensure no losses. If necessary, use Time Stasis/Petrification to strech the combat without taking more losses from the enemy hero or Guardian Angel 4/Unit healing to quicken your regeneration.
In shorter battles, just cast Mass Healing on Inferno troops (if enemy is might) or Mass Regeneration on your own troops (if enemy is magic) wait for Inferno to act, heal losses with Vestals/Seraphim/Guardian Angel 4 and kill off whatever remains in one or two rounds at worst. In case you're wondering getting Guardian Angel 4 is no problem, there's a special building that automatically fills the gauge at the start of combat.
So no losses, yet again, with ridiculous ease, yet again.
The only "difficulty" in the final scenario comes from the AI attacking you twice every two weeks. If can easily be countered by a good Town Portal policy, which, like always, makes it very easy to intercept most enemies. Capture the city between yours and Sveltana's and the biggest invasion hazard (the monolith one way exit between your starting town and the first village) is immediately countered.
It's about as overpowered as a Magic Blood Necropolis, if not more.

Haven crashes
I see that it has been a while since anyone posted in this thread. I have just started HOMM VI within the past month on my new computer with a much better video card than my old one (which was not enough for HOMM VI).
I played the Necro campaign with no difficulties to speak of.
I am now playing the Haven campaign and am on map 4. I've had some of the problems others had talked about with the enemy constantly attacking my home base -- but have been able to cope with that ok.
The game itself has another problem that is particularly aggravating. Every now and then the game crashes in one way or the other -- often after I have just finished a big fight and am doing some after action mop up, such as reviving elite troops at home base. Sometimes the crash gives me a windows 7 "program has stopped working" error, and so I end up having to reload from the daily saves before that big battle. Twice it has frozen the computer entirely and I have had to do a hard restart, i.e. push & hold the power button. That is never good!

Whatever happened to alt-ctrl-del? Always gets the job done when my H6 freezes.

Most of the time, that does work (or any of the other alternates for bringing up task-manager, namely CTRL-SHIFT-ESC, or ALT-TAB and then right click on the task bar).
BUT, there are times when the game has not allowed either of those to happen and is frozen so tight that nothing will respond. Have to press and hold the power button.
FWIW, I am playing with upgrade 1.8, and Uplay just upgraded itself today -- but that did not help.
Another bug I have seen, at least in this campaign, is that when it switches to the battle map the terrain and the creatures are on different levels. If you can even see a creature, all you see is the top of the head and the green bar that represents the stack.

Think it's NVidia. Mine crashes too when in fort/town screen or when enemy tries to capture fort/town.
Task Manger does work even if freeze is so imbedded. Just do it twice. The second time entering Task manager seems to do the trick.
