Strategies against Sylvan?
Hi everyone, i usually play with a friend that chooses Sylvan and a map where the hero gets the ultimate ability. I'd like to counter that! What can i do to slaughter his troops (archers and druids are wicked!!) or to prevent him getting the i-always-have-luck ability? Which is a good strategy against Sylvan? Any rush tactic?

Homm 5 is a balanced game, as long as academy and sylvan are banned 1v1.
Otherwise u must play very specific maps. Or at least this is what russian tournament players do.
Anyways choose small map, pick Academy, Havez and rush him with Balista(if he is skilled u better have flaming arrows) and summoning/destructive. By rush i mean week 3, month 1. Spells to look for - fire trap, phantom forces, phoenix from summoning, and fireball, circle of winter, meteor shower, implo, deep freeze from destructive.
Skills
warmashines 3ple balista
expert sorcery
expert summoning/destructive
expert enlightenment
and uf ur lucky - advanced attack flaming arrows
From artificer u need only mark of the wizard.
U need 16 lvlups for it, 12 if without attack and flaming arrows.

I didn't know about those restrictions in 1v1, but i only play multi with a friend, so your Havez strategy is very good!
I rushed AI with dungeon and in week 3 its town was mine!

it won't work on the big map tho. and sylvan if left long enough will just roll over you with minimal effort (I wonder if your friend uses Wyngal ).
To defeat sylvan you need to act fast.

Yep, that was what i was thinking, in long games sylvan becomes really powerful. He uses Ossir btw
I must act quickly with dungeon or inferno right?

Dungeon: Yes, rushing is the only tactic that will win the day for you... at least most of the time.
Inferno: I'd personally build a bit before going after sylvan so that I can gate even more armies into battle, but I can see where an all out rush would also be preferable.

Hmmm...quite tricky. As Sylvan is the most powerful faction, I'd probably recommend two things:
Play as Stronghold and get Expert Blood Rage and plenty of troops, especially cyclopes. If there's one town that can beat the Sylvan town, it's this town.
The other town that can beat Sylvan quite easily is the Dungeon. Strong creatures, including Black Dragons, can overwhelm the Sylvan's deadly archers and dragons. Just watch out for Treants. And don't forget your handy destructive spells against their deadly archers.
Other towns will have a little harder time in defeating this powerful side. (Heck, I beat a stronger Necro army with Sylvan).
